Pros: Greens were new and in beautiful shape. Nice layout in a wooded area with some water.
Cons: Fairways were a bit firm and had some bare patches.
We hit this course on my 54th birthday. Nice layout in a more forested area.
Warm Up - Grass driving range into water. Nicely maintained. Two level putting green for putting practice and a separate area for pitching and chipping.
Yardage book available for $12. It is marked from the back tees and looks hand written for tournament play.
Tees - Nicely maintained and generally flat with Granite Markers showing hazards.
Greens - New greens, not sure of the grass but there was not visible grain direction. They were running 9 - 10 and rolling nicely.
Rough - Kept fairly short with a variety of types like a rye type grass on some holes and a scrubby bermuda type on others. Some areas had sand right under the rough that acted almost like a sand shot. You had to be careful around the greens.
Fairways - Decent shape with some bare areas that have not grown in yet. Narrow on a lot of holes with water on at least one side or pine trees.
Sand - Firm yet playable.
Overall layout - In a quiet are with some development housing on some holes. The harder holes used water or dog legs to add challenge.
Views - Lots of Osprey, turkey vultures, cranes, herons and other critters like turtles and fish. Pretty scenery.
Staff - Friendly and welcoming.
Club House - Jimmy's Bar and Restaurant was right next door. Good food and beer on tap.
Rates - $33 during the week with cart. Great value for such an nice course with new greens.
Overall - I would play this again definitely.
