Poulter did not taunt Tiger. He paid him respect in saying that nobody would catch him in number 1 spot, therefore everybody was playing for number 2 spot, including him. Hence it would just be Tiger [number 1] and him [number 2].

Tiger could have responded with some modesty, but instead he made a catty remark on a TV interview. Next time Tiger does media, he should think "WWJD (What Would Jack Do?)".

How boring would golf be without these individuals stirring the pot? Let's be completely honest about all of this nonsense, and I do mean nonsense. The media is what drives any and all of this. They seek out comments and in fact, often lead the interviewee into making these often regrettable statements. The fact that Tiger even takes any interest in what anyone else has to say about him, speaks of a level of egotism and quite frankly, an interesting level of what many often fail to see, immaturity (rather childish how he reacts). All of this aside, you will likely never come across the likes of him again in the history of golf...He's beyond better than most.
