This is one of the more well written articles I've read on this site. Informative, entertaining and clear. The whining diva and good night, knight lines are particularily well done. Very fine job.

I, too, admired Van de Velde's attitude. Sergio, on the other hand, will NEVER win a major or any tournament of importance where he is closely challenged. He does not have the stomach for it. When he was leading going into R4, I still thought he would choke. The tournament was almost handed to him and that would have been a true shame. He had the putt on 18 to shake the monkey off his back. Missed. I knew it! Ha! He's no Seve.

If Sergio can get a big lead and coast in, that's what it will take for him to win the big one. No way if it's close.

I may be in a small crowd but I find a lot to admire about Van de Velde's attitude. A very useful lesson when I start to get cooked over a poor shot.

For that matter, I thought Sergio handled his disappointment pretty well too (publicly, anyway). How hard it must be to face the press after such a public collapse.
