Subscribe to Comments

Gone are the days of having to remember to check back to read new comments. Now you can be notified automatically!

Site NewsA few days ago, we implemented a new feature here at The Sand Trap: "subscribe to comments."

Next to the "Post Comment" button at the bottom of every article here at TST, you'll see a checkbox that says "Subscribe to Comments." If you check it, you'll be sent an email every time someone else responds to the same article. They may be responding to you. If you wish to unsubscribe, each email contains a link that allows you to do so.

"Subscribe to Comments" frees you from having to remember to check back to read new comments. We hope you like it.

Emails are sent from <comments@thesandtrap.com>, so you may want to add that address to your spam blocker's whitelist. Per our privacy policy, your email address will never be used by us except for the purpose of notifying you of new comments, nor will your name or email address be sold, loaned, or given to anyone else.

  1. In other words, the process works like this:

    1. You check the "Subscribe to Comments" checkbox and post your comment.
    2. You begin to receive comments as they're posted.
    3. If you wish to unsubscribe at any time, simply click the provided URL in any of the emails.

This feature is per-article, and it's really that simple.

  2. No RSS feed for comments?

  3. No, though we could add one if there was enough demand.

We don't have one right now because… a lot of people don't care to see comments on articles they've not commented on. I have a comments feed at my personal blog.
