I can see the new sales pitch now.

Years of driver advances have finally got you hitting that weak little cut. But what do you do when you really want to crank that banana ball out to the right?

The answer is two drivers.

By carrying both the heel-weighted offset driver as well as one that is merely closed you will be able to choose either the right or further right depending on the layout of the hole.

Two Drivers! Choose the power of your slice

I can hook a fade-biased driver just as easily as I can slice a draw-biased driver. I do both with great consistency with my neutral driver.

I can draw or fade my one driver and they're both long. But I'm considering changing my set to have 13 hybrids and a putter.

I got the same email, the sad thing is that it will influence some people into putting two drivers in the bag. I will live with my lovely Hibore that will draw or fade based on how well or badly I swing the club.... imagine if these trends continue, where will it end.. golfballs that are immune to fades and draws, golfclubs that autocorrect based on mis hits? Scary thoughts.

Phil's two drivers is an indictment of the new breed of drivers set to either draw or fade the ball. He was saying that if had the draw driver in his hand, he could not get the ball to fade and vice versa. For a skilled player who can work the ball, that would be incentive to stay away from the FT-3 or other biased drivers. I suppose the Taylor Made R7 clubs at least allow one to adjust the club to the course and adapt to conditions. It is not locked into one shot shape.

Personally, I am not good enough to work the ball with a driver. If I can hit is long and resonably straight I will accept whichever way the ball wants to turn. Long live the Sasquatch!

I can *understand* why a retailer would send an advertisement (i.e., they want to sell more product). But, I think that this is a bit sleazy - especially when everyone seems to be doing it.

I definitely agree with you on this one - either save the money, or spend it on lessons (something that will actually help your game).

The way I look at it is two drivers are a lot more expensive than one. :-)

That's about all I have to add to this party.
