Time Frame for Ordering Clubs On-Line - Help....

I was getting ready to order my Taylormade r7 TP's, and was wondering how long it takes to get the order shipped to my door from the time I order at an on-line store like Golfsmith, Tgw, etc.

The clubs will be customized to my specifications according to the Ping fitting system. I understand this will delay the shipping time, but how long will it delay it.

When should I expect to have these clubs in my hand, 3 weeks - 4 weeks - more...


Or I was wondering if it would be faster to go to my local pro shop and order through them. It might be worth the sales tax to get the clubs a week or two early.

Thanks for any info.

My 735s were expressed shipped for $20 from TGW and were at my house in less than 24 hours. I took them to my club fitter and had them set up to my specs for another $32. Total time waiting for clubs...2 days. Not having to wait three weeks for a custom order that I would have to check anyway because of my anal personality...Priceless!

I'd say it will take about 2-3 weeks. I don't think ordering through your pro shop makes it that much quicker though.

I had my Ping I5s in 4 days from Ping. I live in Montreal and Ping is in Toronto, so figure a day for shipping.

I'd say it depends on the specs you order, some specs like +1/2" with green dot are sometimes kept in stock at some retailers while other may have to order them from Ping. So I'd say it depends more on the retailer as Ping is pretty good about getting things done quickly.

      Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.

      I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.

      Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.

      Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
