Hey guys,

I have a small ponderment (prob a word i made up ) about my grip. When i set up to the ball, my left hand has a neutral position, thumb just to the left of centre and two knuckles showing front on, but after i have swung i have a strong position, thumb much further left and 3+ knuckles shwing. I have had problem recently hitting a little bit of a hook and missing a lot left.

Firstly has anyone got advice as to why my hand is moving, and how to move it?

Secondly am i right in thinking this may be a causal factor in my hook?

Thanks muchly

My guess is your grounding the club and just before you start the back swing you regrip the club with the stronger grip. About the only way to change the grip, can't see it happing during the swing.

My guess would be re-gripping as well.

Do you have a slicing fear?

FWIW- My misses tend to be hooks, but they are what I'd call "leakage" hooks. I leakage hook is when I left the left wrist collapse a little.
When I first started playing, I was a slicer. I still have that fear of slicing, yet it hasn't been my miss for many years.

Swing easy and with a nice loose grip. Make sure that when you address the ball that the back of your left hand's wrist doesnt cup. Check and make sure its nearly straight with the right hand over the thumb.

"Yep. Inside each and every one of us is one true authentic swing. Somethin' we was born with. Somethin' that's ours and ours alone. Somethin' that can't be taught to ya or learned. Somethin' that got to be remembered."
