I love the Masters. Augusta is one of the most beautiful courses in world. I love that it is the first Major and it is in April.

I have to go with the Masters. Any other major, the weather is nice enough for me to play so I'd rather be out doing that. Masters is the only one I get to watch for the most part. Was at the US Open last year....and I try to follow as much of all of them as I can.

I'd say the Masters too (and I'm going to get flack for this), but the music is just awful and seriously gets on my nerves. And I have tried using the mute button.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I'm gonna buck the trend and say my favorite is the British Open. It's the only Open on foreign land and it's always a trip to see players adjust to the links style courses. A couple of years ago when Tiger primarily used irons throughout the tournament caused an uproar, but it just showed the intelligence behind changing your game around to suit the course. The Master's has the tradition, but something about links courses and something about Europe sells it on me. Im based in Chicago but I have a love affair with Europe. Although it's not in the same place every year like the Master's, it's got just as much tradition as it...

The British because i dont get to see that kind of golf that much (links style)

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

I actually like the British the best, but I put the Masters because it is the only one where the TV coverage is of the same quality as the tournament. I have also wathced most often since the weather here is often to poor that time of year. The British has the best combination testing but intersting golf, (lacking in the US Open) Drama (lacking im most of the PGA's) and fairness, (I feel the Masters favors to few playing styles). Historically many of the PGA courses weren't really deserving of a major. I would really like it if the PGA explored maybe an early March start once every 5 years, don't know if the club pros would like that or not, but it would bring Florida, Hawaii, and other warm weather areas more consideration.

My two favorite majors are the Masters and the Open. They are both great, generally filled with drama, wonderful history and tradition. I can't decide which I like more than the other. Each of them have qualities that seperate them from each other as well as any other tournament.

I shall endeavor to watch each very closely and determine which I enjoy more. But then, I don't think I could possibly choose one over the other as each are so very different, singular and special. Alas, a bounty of riches!

To call it by its correct name THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP is my favourite and its not because Im an adopted Brit. Its how the game was designed to be played, on a links course(preferably in a howling wind) with rough up to your knees.Bunkers that you need a ladder to get into and last but not least crowds that dont shout "in the hole" every time someone hits the ball. They have even started doing it when Tiger tees off on the par 5's.

The Masters is next, for pure excitment and an atmosphere that transends through the TV . Especially when its a tight leaderboard with the lead changing hands hole by hole for pure drama you cant beat it.

The US open is 3rd by virtue that I dont think the PGA should be a Major. If I was nominating four majors (why are there 4?) I would have to include the World Matchplay Championship.Again for the reasons I chose the Open Championship as numero uno in it being the origional form and in my opinion best form of competition.

I would have to say the British Open because it seems that you get the most variety of playing styles on that course. With the Masters, the course never ceases to amaze me as far as the condition but it seem that there isn't the same variety of ways to play the shots. I love watching a shot that lands twenty or thirty yards short of the green and runs up to 3 feet. I also think the course management styles can differ a little more at most of the British Open courses as opposed to Augusta. Along with that, the fact that the British Open is not played on the same course every year keeps my interest up.

The Masters, with the US Open in a very close second place. I enjoy the US open because it really makes conditions difficult for the players, not to say the masters isnt difficult though.

I rank them like this 1. Masters 2. US Open 3. British Open 4. PGA

Nothing beats the back nine at Augusta on Sunday. US Open is great to watch the non-stop train wrecks. British Open is great if the weather is awful. PGA is just about who can survive the summer heat.

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.
    • 43 (6 over) Couple bogies, couple Pars, a birdie and no doubles. Not bad for first 9 of the year.
    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
