Seems like most of what he said was truthful. Most of the guys of Nick's generation DO NOT like him. Big deal. We all know that, and telling the truth is fine by me. Nick knows it too. He's said he had to be a prick in order to be competitive, and I respect him for knowing what it took and doing it.

He's not been a prick on the air, because that's a different environment. Tiger's a bit of a prick on the golf course too. So was Jack back in the day. As was Hogan. So what?

What Azinger says will have no consequence to the players of the European team. They know that Azinger and the US team are their opponents and may try to get into their heads, but in the end it comes down to who plays the better golf. Azinger will have no effect on how well the European team preforms.

He has started the mind games already by saying that because Faldo does not like Monty he will not give him a wildcard.

I don't buy that, and I doubt that Monty does either. Monty has teamed with Faldo in past events, so he knows Faldo has nothing against him.

Nick Faldo's wife once said that if you could have a handicap in social skills, he would be off 25. Some say that he is arrogant, i just think he is a nice fella who speaks his mind. He was nice to me when i met him.

Is Tiger Woods popular with his peers?..probably not, they admire his golf skills..?

I've heard that Tiger Woods is a hell of a guy off the course--it's just when he's on the course and playing for money that he looks and acts like a machine.

If there is one common thread in pro sports that I have learned, it's that the best players are considered pricks by their peers many times. Baseball, football, golf, tennis, you name it. The guys that are the best have an absolute obsession at being the best, and have the work ethic and attitude to match.

Golf isn't like what it was years ago. Even Greg Norman said it the other day. To paraphrase, he basically said that he was a socialite, but that guys like him couldn't make it today. The game is way more intense.
