This is not the typical what bag do you use thread. I am looking for something in particular. First off I am looking for a cart bag, but not one of the Cadillac sized ones. I would like it to have 14 individual full length dividers, and it must have an external putter tube. I have looked at a lot of nice ones including Datrek, Ogio, Bag Boy and Great Divider to name a few. The one problem is that they are HUGE! It is a pain to get two of these to fit on the back of a cart together. Basically I am looking for the features of most of the larger cart bags, but in a smaller package. I have also looked at some of the Sun Mountain products, but haven't been able to find someone local that sells them. Thoughts? I already have a decent carry bag that I can use when needed, so I don't want to get another one of those.

Thanks.

I love my Bag Boy Revolver. It doesn't have a putter tube, but it has putter clips (I would prefer a tube too). Whether it's too big is a matter of opinion, but it's not as big a staff-type bag. And I've never had any problems fitting it on a cart.

Most cart bags are on the huge side, especially with 14 full-way dividers. The bag designers figure if you are going to be lugging the bag around on a cart that size isn't that big an issue -- it only has to fit in the bag space on a cart.

I have a Burton CXS hybrid bag that can be used as a stand or cart bag. It has 14 full-way dividers, is medium wight (about 6 lbs.) and has legs that lock closed and carry straps that stow away in their own pocket for cart use. No putter tube but it does have an external putter well/clip. I generally keep my putter in one of the club slots but I have used the putter clip and works ok. It's quite a good cart bag (riding or push cart) and a decent stand bag.

Sun Mountain C-130....I use mine w/ a guy that has a Wilson staff bag(HUGE) and they fir just fine....not sure what you mean by not fitting together.????

Some of the guys I play with regularly have huge, meaning wide, bags that really do not fit on a cart together. If they do, you can't get to the inside pockets because it is too tight. I was trying to avoid that. I haven't seen any Sun Mountains in person. How is the SCB or SCB Deluxe in comparison to the C-130?

I love my Bag Boy Revolver. It doesn't have a putter tube, but it has putter clips (I would prefer a tube too). Whether it's too big is a matter of opinion, but it's not as big a staff-type bag. And I've never had any problems fitting it on a cart.

Looked at these and did not like them, also they do not have a putter tube as you mentioned.

Get a stand bag and walk...that would be my suggestion..

If you read the post, I said I already have one and do use it when I walk. But when playing in tournaments or going on golf trips where I play 36/day there is no walking.

Most cart bags are on the huge side, especially with 14 full-way dividers. The bag designers figure if you are going to be lugging the bag around on a cart that size isn't that big an issue -- it only has to fit in the bag space on a cart.

Looked at this one, but I don't like the clips. There is nothing to protect the putter.

Thanks for your suggestions. Just thought I would see if there was a model out there that I didn't know about that would accommodate everything I was looking for.

The C-130 and SCB are similiar if I remember....the one thing about the C-130 is the oversize putter tube, I use a jumbo winn and it wouldn't fit in the SCB...just something to think about.

I have the Bagboy Griplok cart bag. It was out prior to the cliplok. It has 2 external club tubes (one would have been better as far as total width) The build is ok and this is the best bad IMO to keep your clubs protected

I would suggest the Sun Mountain C-130 or the Sun Mountain MPB.

I have an older c-130, a new model c-130, and a MPB. All of these fit
on a cart with ease and I do not think they are too big.

I have used them on a push cart too.

Sun Mountain makes a great bag.

I would suggest the Sun Mountain C-130 or the Sun Mountain MPB.

I really like the looks and features of the c-130, especially how it is configured for specificallt for a cart. I know it is big, but the design is great. It is bigger than what I really want, but I think that is the one thing that I am willing to sacrifice in order to have the 14 full length dividers and putter well. Thanks for your suggestion. I think I found a local pro shop that carries Sun Mountain. Hopefully I will get a change to check them out this weekend.

I was looking for the same thing last year. I checked out several bags over a few weeks then bought the SMS C-130 because it was an awesome looking bag with plenty of cargo space, big isolated pocket, big ball pocket, and 14 dividers with an external putting tube.

It sat in my family room for a month, with the tags on, because I kept thinking it was too big.

Then I saw the SMS SCB Deluxe (Speed Cart Bag). It was a smaller version if the C-130 in every way. I loved it so much that I bought the SMS Speed Cart V1 a week later. No regrets on either.

The SCB Deluxe works well on an electric cart too. Since the two center dividers are taller and the two outer dividers are lower (and the same height), you can rearrange your clubs to where the longer woods are always furthest from you whether you're in an electric cart or using a push cart.

The C-130 is a tight squeeze on a cart, especially if there's another monster bag on board.

Sure, two will fit, just don't plan on accessing the pockets during your round.

I'd go with the mid-sized SCB Deluxe.

No offense, but if the C-130 sat in your family room how do you know it is a tight squeeze?

Like I said I have one and use it 3-4 a week w/ a buddy that has a HUGE staff bag.....it fits just fine...of course if you pack your entire second drawer from your house in the damn thing like your going on a 3 day trip and then throw in a 12 pack of beer...then ya it might get tight. What bag wouldn't? I can access my pockets just fine, and frankly don't need to access the sides, since the bag has such big front pockets. Unless you've used it....why give a opinion? I'm sure the OP wanted actual suggestions from people that have used the product/s. Please let me know if I am wrong here............

I've own 3 cart bag. The one I use now is the Sun Mountain C130 and if I change I will buy another one.

Not to big but still lots of room, 14 individual slot, nice cooler pocket and I like the way the cart strap passes through the front of the bag to hold it tight.

For me, the best bag on the market!
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

No offense, but if the C-130 sat in your family room how do you know it is a tight squeeze?

I know because my Team Play partner has one. We shared a cart for roughly 15 rounds this past Jan-Feb. The bags were loaded with rain gear, windshirts, etc. Why else would you want to have a bigger bag unless you planned on putting stuff in those pockets? It was tight with my SCB. It would have been frustrating if we both had C-130's.

Another regular partner of mine carries a Callaway Staff Bag. It's also a tight squeeze when I'm sharing with him. That's my opinion and I'm throwing it out there. (Why do you feel the need to tell me that I shouldn't post an opinion here? You really need to keep that shit to yourself.) The OP said he didn't want a Cadillac size bag. If the C-130 is not a Cadillac sized bag, what would you classify it as? You, yourself said you don't access the side pockets. What's that all about? If he said he wanted a big cart bag I would have said the C-130. Of all the bags I looked at, it was superior for what I was gonna use it for. In the end, I decided against it because it would be too heavy to lug to and from the driving range. It also wouldn't fit on the floor of my crew cab. It would have to stay on the backseat. Finally, it wouldn't fit on a push cart. Have YOU even looked or used the SCB Deluxe??

Now that's a valid opinion based of facts.......that's the kind of opinion that carries some weight which is what I was saying was not in your first post.

As far as the side pockets...just how often do you need to access the 2 big ones while on the course??? Hardly ever....that was my point.

    • A good option is to play the Par 3 courses. after playing an 18 -hole round. The Par 3 courses have 18 holes, we usually played only 9 holes after playing 36 holes on each of the trips we had. You may want to check out Grand National while you're in the middle of Alabama. I enjoyed Oxmoor Valley and Ross Bridge courses which are a short drive north.
    • In August, I am playing the World Am in Myrtle Beach. I do not know which courses yet, but should be a blast. Aside from that, those are the only golf trip plans, unless I play while on vacation in Destin in June.
    • Even on a perfect center hit I was receiving at most 1.48 smash factor. 10 days ago on the warming up for a round my Driver made a weird sound, I checked the bottom and it was cracked. Don't know for how long it was cracked but at least this time the crack was easy visible. Maybe it was already cracked before but with a more subtle crack?.. don't know. I'm waiting for TaylorMade to approve the warranty and send me a new head. I was using the Stealth Plus, I will take the opportunity and upgrade it to the Qi10 LS paying the difference.  On Sunday with my old Titleist 915 and softer balls I was reaching 1.5, even 1.51 on center hits. Test didn't went well. Only gained 2..3 miles, not worth pursuing. Figured out that with a ball and with a target, my path was way to in to out with this new idea, so in order to move the club in the correct path I needed to slow down to redirect the club on the downswing or aim more to the right, close the face a play a big hook.. not possible. I already play a big draw with Driver, more curvature is unplayable. Yesterday at home, with no ball messed around with a more neutral path, even swinging a little out to in. It felt a lot more in sync with the body. With a big in to out path it feels like my hands are working right, away from the body, when the body is working to rotate to the left. With the path to the left is was easier to apply force thru the hitting zone.  As always tested 10 swings with my current swing (A), and 10 with this little out to in path(B).  The difference was huge, like 12 miles faster with swing (B). I knew something wasn't right. The fact was that the PRGR was aligned more in line with the (B) path so it of course was giving higher speeds. I proceeded to align it with the (A) path and tested again 5 more swings each. Again (B) was faster but only by 5 miles. (Made a tiny experiment moving the PRGR to a more extreme in to out path and the swings register 25/30% slower for both swings, so it wasn't reading properly at that angle) Finally I moved the PRGR in the middle of both paths, and this time (B) won by 9 miles. Off course, this was without a ball and a target so.. I will be hitting the range tomorrow to see the real difference.
