He was paid a HUGE compliment by Gary Player after Gary finished his 2nd round today. He said Trevor has the closest swing to Ben Hogan that he has ever seen. Also said he's one of the best ball strikers he's seen and that's saying a lot. He has high hopes for Trevor.

He had something in Golf Digest a few months back.
It was pretty good.
And I agree with Gary Player for once, he's the real deal.

It would be a nice story if he won after the scary health issues he has been through over the last year.

You can look at Trevor Immelman's swing (filmed a few years ago) in the following two video clips which you can slow down and/or drag to a specific frame and look at any positon you desire:

Pretty swing...I hope the guy wins the Masters, seems like a nice fella too!

However, I'm not familiar with the term "width" that he uses in the 2nd article. He is clear about what he means by that but I don't see how that word fits the description. Maybe somebody can chime in?

Pretty swing...I hope the guy wins the Masters, seems like a nice fella too!

I interpret his description of width to mean that his hands arrive at a location quite a distance from his head (at the top of the swing), and that his shoulder and arm have traveled a long distance from where they were at address. If his (upper) left arm slid across his chest so that his hands were more in line with his head, and the left elbow was close to the right shoulder (from face on view) at the top then there wouldn't be width between head/hands, right shoulder/hands, and left (lower arm) and chest. The important thing to remember when doing this (and looking at his swing) is he is not separating his upper arm from his chest (which would lead to separation and problems getting the arms and body to move in sync).

The reason he hooks his left arm with his right in the width article, and uses the right arm to pull the left back is to show that the left arm stays relaxed, doesn't make the movement itself, and is more about the distance the left shoulder is moving. The picture in the width article has one image superimposed on another. I think it is easier to see in this picture: http://www.golftoday.co.uk/proshop/f...reaction_5.jpg (specifically the image in the bottom right corner of that picture)

Does anyone know what irons Immelman plays? I didn't get a really good glimpse during the Masters but they looked like CCi's. That would be so damn cool if he does; although I think they may have been the new Slingshots.

From what I could glimpse, I assumed they were the cci's. And I'm guessing they're the forged versions.

CCi Cast, actually, with TT DG Tour shafts.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

A few years ago I purchased a 420cc Driver that has 10.5 Loft and a stiff shaft because when I purchased it I had my swing speed measured and it was 100 mph . My trajectory is too low. I can carry to about 210 - 220 yds and if the surface is hard It usually ends up 240 - 270. My ball position is left heel and it goes pretty straight most of the time. I do close my stance a little just to make sure that my swing does not go out to in. It just stays pretty low and I want to get a higher trajectory. My grip is not too strong or weak. Any Ideas?

Golf Digest hasn't offically posted the link on their site, but here are some more Immelman tips which are related to the swing sequence you will find of him in the July issue.

http://www.golfdigest.com/instructio...hotos_immelman

They should have video clips of his swing up on their site at some point as well.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
