Pick the big match Serra or GSP?

Im a huuuuuge UFC fan. Im rooting for GSP and I think he'll win, probably by TKO ground and pound, or he'll submit the guy after he wears him out a bit

I love to hate this damn game.

I'll go with GSP aswell. My prediction is KO (kick to the head) in third round.

Pick the big match Serra or GSP?

Is this some kind of match play golf event

Oh, the UFC... isn't that some cage fighting stuff... I think I watched that about a decade ago when Hoyce Gracie (SP?) was winning? I will go with Serra then I guess (haven't heard of either, but GSP sounds like some sort of drug or something).

There is no way George St. Pierre is going to lose again to Matt Serra. Third Round TKO by the way of Ref Stoppage.

Serra is a punk. He got so lucky the first time. GSP will be more dominant then Hughes once he regains his title.

I think Serra has better stand up than Hughes. GSP is just pure athlete and MMA machine. I wouldn't put any money on this one.

Not to sound like a politician, but I really don't know. I can see Serra sort of smothering him, and can also see GSP knocking his head off or wearing him down and winning on the scorecard or submission.

So to have some contribution to this thread I say GSP 3rd round KO.

I dont know if anyone bought the bout, but I did. Was wondering if anyone just saw the Nate Quarry fight against Caleb something or other from Canada.

The fight was a joke. Quarry did everything he could to make that fight go on and the punk from Canada just kept backing away and running around the ring like he doesnt belong there.

Quarry did the running man in the middle to end of the 3rd round mocking Caleb, and all Caleb could do is flip him off because he sure as hell couldnt fight him.

Then in the post fight interview, which is in Montreal, Canada, Quarry, an American, was cheered by the crowd. And gave a quote from Rocky IV. " If I can change, and you can change, We can all change. "

Never was really a fan of Quarry, but now I am a huge fan. Great guy and a good personality.

Hoping the other bouts are going to be as good as the first two. With the only exception being the Nate Quarry v. Caleb ( Canada person ).

Wow, a lot of UFC fans in here!

I'm relatively new to the sport, but, did see the first match up. If Serra can catch GSP like in the first, that his in. I don't really know much about St Pierre but being in his home town he better not loose. I was watching the pre show on Spike, actually only saw Serra's segment. He looks like he's ready for this... And I do like an underdog. My friends ordered the fight and we're having a little shindig tomorrow, should be exciting if anything.

Wow, a lot of UFC fans in here!

Well, I hope your shindig was tonight because thats when the fight was.

Pretty typical to what I expected. Got the rounds wrong, but TKO by the way of Ref Stoppage for GSP. Class on both parts after the fight, but that all changes 2 weeks down the road when the excuses come out on the end of the loser. Serra should drop back down and fight in the lightweight class where he fought before. He seemed exremely over matched in the second bout. St. Pierre's power was to much for him to overcome and he won the fight fairly easily. Good Fight Night. Not the best I have seen, but better than most. Cant wait for next months fights. Penn vs. Sherk is going to be a war.

No, we tivo'd it and watched last night. Unfortunately with myself and other friends avoiding this thread and all sports casts, one of my buddies spilled the beans about Serra getting beat.

The other fights on the night were great!

Bisping and the barage of knees. Then those last 30 seconds in the Nate Quarry/Kalib fight was the funniest fight we'd ever seen. First with Quarry doint the "running man" chase after Kalib, then chasing Kalebn around the ring with only one hand while the other covered his face, that was too much. We couldn't stop laughing.

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
    • They've been chuckling since they hooked the shark. I think Greg doesn't realize the jokes on him.
