I don't currently subscribe to either, but I'm looking to pick up a sub to one or the other. Not both. Not yet. So I'm curious what y'all think...

GolfWeek:25 Issues for $29.94
GolfWorld: 43 Issues for $31.97

P.S. A lot of magazines do "industry" pricing. Certainly this site should qualify me for that - if jcgolfpro or anyone has any inside knowledge on how I might obtain an "industry" subscription to either of these mags, let me know via PM or email.

I have never taken the opportunity to browse through either. I have a free subscription to GolfDigest (sucks) and have read a couple issues of Golf Magazine (also sucks). The reason for me trashing these publications is it seems they just redress the same ole information month after month. So, I stick with the internet.

We got GolfWeek at the course. It's pretty good. Actually it's really good if you're looking for in-depth golf industry type talk.

As a kid I'd always had a subscription to Golf Magazine. I only read it for the interviews. I could care less about golf tips, as I believe, following the latest hot tip only hurts one's game more than it helps.

Well, I have only glanced over all the magazines the past few years, but I had a subscription to Golf World in high school, and that was the best magazine I can remember reading. I loved getting that magazine. As far as following the tours, I think it does the best.

Golf Digest and Golf Magazine definitely have way too much material to keep interest.

GolfWeek is close to Golf World, but I would choose Golf World for sure.. I just liked what I saw then, unless it sucks now. But I doubt that.

I'm actually thinking of subscribing to it again..

Since I last posted, I actually went ahead and got a 2 year subscription to GolfWorld, and I am loving it!

The Masters issues were awesome, both the preview and review issues.

GolfWorld isn't too thick and won't bore the heck out of you. But it has enough material to keep your attention for a little while too.

It's the best for me, I know that much.

I love Golf Digest. Alot fo tips, articles, and good information in it. I am currently subscribed for a year and i will probably renew. I do not enjoy golf week or golf world though.

I am interested in hearing your reasons for not liking Golf World or Golf Week. I'm not being a jerk in any way, I just want to know what you think about them.

Golf Digest does have a lot of tips in there, but it is just too thick with a lot of useless junk IMO. I get bored flipping through all those pages, but that is just me.

If we are going to discuss which magazines are better, we might as well have a full out discussion about it.

Yes thrash it does come with alot of adds and pull outs. But i do prefer it. And i like many writers in the magazine.

You know it is the #1 golf magazine there is.

I bought a few issues of golf week a couple of months ago. It just didnt satisfy me. i wanted to read something else. There tour info was dull i think compared to the writers of the Digest.

But what the heck to i know.

Thats an answer to your ? Thrash.

That is good enough for me Mike. That's all I was wondering, and yes, Golf Digest still gets plenty of sales, that's for sure.

Well on the subject i got the latest golf digest yesterday. It was labled the biggest issue ever on the top of the cover. Darn it is thick.

Thick with ads. And the original poll gives two choices, and Golf Digest ain't one of 'em.

IMHO - All of the above have the same problem - too many ads, too many (sometimes contradicting) "tips" and "fixes". Not enough articles with merit... Go SandTrap.com !!!

I Read that new golf digest last night. There is a good bit of adds but there was a lot of good info in there too. The tips and swing info from Vijay helped me the most. Also enjoyed some of the jokes in there. Overall the issue was an 8 out of a 10. Which is pretty good.

Id say get a copy.

I get both Golf World and Golf Week at professional rate. If I had to pick one, Golf Week would clearly be the one. If you haven't already subscribed, I'll see what I can do for you, Erik.

    • You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.
    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
