I'm going to Orlando in a couple of weeks for Disney with my family and im not really interested in going to the theme parks and what I want to do is play golf. We are having a hard time deciding on which courses we will go to. I found this website and it gives us a lot of courses to choose from and we can make the teetimes the night before and still get on at pretty good times. Im wondering of anyone has used this site and can recommend any courses in Orlando. Currently we are looking at Falcon's Fire, Bay Hill, Grand Cypress, Disney Courses, and we predetermined that we might drive up to Sawgrass.

Heres the link to the website.

Go to GolfNow.com or ParadiseTeeTimes.com ... I have seen a better selection courses listed. Golf Now emails you a list daily of available tee times. I rarely venture over to Orlando to play... wish I did... but those sites give me the best rates for the Tampa/Sarasota area.

I checked out that site. The best courses they have available are Grand Cypress, Celebration and Championsgate.

You should try Orange County National if you haven't played the two courses there. Also Reunion and Bay Hill are great, but I think you have to stay there to paly there. Southern Dunes is also a good course

If your family is going to Disney, the Disney courses are convenient and pretty good. I will be there the last week of June and will probably play OC National, Championsgate, Celebration and one of the Disney courses

I am listing them in my order of preference:

Orange County National - Two great courses, reasonably priced, must play
Bay Hill - Arnie's home course. If you watch the PGA event here you will recognize some of the holes. Cool Place to play. I think you have to saty here to playe here.
Grand Cypress - Very Nice, but very expensive
Disney Coures - Osprey Ridge - Best of the Diseny layouts, wooded and nice
Celebration
Disney - Magnolia, Palm, Lake Buena Vista - I Like these 3 about the same. Diseney has some very low green fees in June $50 after 10AM; $40 after 3PM. Service and consitioning at Disney courses is second to none.
Mission Inn - El campeon is very nice. The other course at Mission Inn is just okay. El campeon is hilly by Florida standards and interesting. The staff is great and its not too expensive, but it is a bit of a drive to get there.
Falcons Fire - Okay
MetroWest - Okay

I haven't played the following courses:
Harmony Golf Preserve
Grande Pines
Orangle Lake
Timacuan
Grand Lakes @ The Ritz-Carlton
Shingle Creek
Hawks Landing
Eagle Creek

You left some great Orlando courses off your list. The courses at Reunion are among the best in the area. Also, 2 courses at Championsgate and Southern Dunes in Haines City and Alacqua Lakes North of Orlando.

I am leaving for Orlando tomorrow. Staying at Disney. I'll play a few of the Disney courses again and may aslo play OC National, Championsgate and/or Celebration. E-mail me if you want to try to get together for a twilight round

I just got back from Orlando yesterday. I played 7 times in a 10 day window which is pretty good considering i had to go to all of that disney crap. I played OCN Panther Lake on Saturday, MetroWest on Sunay(where I shot my best round of the summer so far, +7 79), Grand Cypress South and East on Monday, Celebration on Tuesday, Mission Inn El Campeon on Wednesday, Disney Palm on Saturday, and Lake Buena Vista on Sunday. The course I liked the best was Grand Cypress, it was one of the most well manicured courses that i have ever played and on the south course there were some of the most undulating greens that i have ever played on, it was almost like a mini golf course but in a good way. My least favorite was Lake Buena Vista, I booked that teetime 2 hours before the round and had a chance to play Magnolia an hour later but turned that down, in retrospect i shouldnt have. Hopin some of my low 80's rounds will drop my cap down alot. It was a great golf trip and played alot of the courses for a lot cheaper because of the lat minute golfer site and another site called teebone.com. One example is Grand Cypress. The normal rate for the morning was 175 per person. We used Teebone .com and played for 88 per.

The Disney courses are fantastic. I have never been disappointed with one. I really liked the feel of Lake Beuna Vista, even though that is not as popular as say the Palm or Magnolia (which are noth great).

I've played several rounds at the Orange County courses. Really liked those as well. Get there early and take advantage of the practice facility.

I got there an hour and a half early and free unlimited range balls was a helpful start for my round. They're putting greens were good, but just a little slower than on the course but that was no problem. I didnt like LBV. Maybe i just got the worst set of coincidences ever during that round.

On the first hole we had to wait on every shot because a group of 3 women, only 2 of which were playing, were hacking their way up the fairway. When we got on the 2nd we had to wait for them to let us play through. And these ladies were bad. They were using rental clubs and this was probably their 3 time on a golf course. One of them used a driver to hit from just off the green. Then after them there was another group of ladies to play through with the same skills as the group before, minus the brains of letting us play through for 2 holes. Then on the 5th hole when we thought that things couldnt get any worse, there were two Japanese girls taking pictures of each other in the middle of the fairway. We yelled at them to move but they didnt pay any attention. We had to drive out to them to get them off. That was another battle because they knew hardly any English. After we got them out of the fairway we had the joy of listening to a Japanese kareoke party for the next 6 holes, probably where they came from. That just ruined the experience for me and i shot my worst round of the vacation.

Not 100% sure if this applies if you DON'T stay, but the wife and I stay at Villas at Grand Cypress and play the Nicklaus design courses there.

If you tee off BEFORE 8am, the rate is HALF, which is $60. To play Nicklaus' links style course, it's a bargain!

It's also a place with unlimited range/facilities at no additional cost.

Ring 'em up and get on that course. You probably won't be disappointed!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I played there on a monday and the regular rate was 175 per person. We got on through teebone.com and played for 88 per person which was good. We played the South and East Courses for an 18 hole round. They were aerating the new course so it was closed that day and the north was closed for the summer due to renovations. It was a really good experience all around.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
