Congrats. And cool blog. A place to read about a player like me.

Thanks and glad you like it! I've been kind of slack lately and haven't updated with my lesson progress.. hopefully I will get to that this week!

Congrats. My low score is 101 and my goal for this summer is to break 100. I think I will do it. I shot 108 today on a course that I previously could only manage 130+ on, so I'm feeling good about that. Have fun!

Grats! Next thing you know you will be breaking 90!

I'm hoping that comes sooner rather than later =)

Good place to choose to play if you're looking to break 100. I broke 80 twice in my life, guess where I played?

Congrats on the achievement! What's the next goal?

I really like

Prairie Isle and I think it's a great course for the money. Also Foxford Hills sometimes has specials where it's half price for a foursome. And lastly Cary Country Club runs coupons in the paper where it's 25 dollars a man w/cart if you have a foursome. Where do you usually play? I'm always looking for good courses to try especially if they are a good value. Also always looking for more playing partners =)

I love Foxford, usually try to play twilight there on weekends for the sake of price. Cary Country Club is not worth the money they charge, but the coupon you mentioned sounds pretty good. I have not played Prarie Isle, maybe I'll have to check that one out. I play at RedTail a lot. They have good deals on twilight weekends, $34 I think. If you book 5 days out it's 28. Nice course for 28, good fairways etc.

I totally agree with your thoughts on Cary which is why I only play it when I have the coupon.

I'll had to check out RedTail. I'm interested to hear your thoughts though on Prairie Isle if you get a chance to go there as I really enjoy the place. My only complaint though is the lack of a driving range. Also I have never played there, but I hear Challet Hills is amazing. Have you ever played there?

I hope to break 100 this weekend. Figured out a few things in my swing and it seems to be paying off. A few weeks ago I shot a 115 (really ugly day) at a fairly hard country club course. I went out and played the middle course at the club yesterday and shot a 43 on the front 9 before it got dark. Trying to hit every shot within my means REALLY helped turn things around. I didn't make a single hero shot or pull out the driver once (which cost me about 4-5 drops off the teebox on the 115 round). On the first hole (a short par 4) I just pulled out a 5 iron and hit it 180 off the tee with a wedge and 2 putt for par and continued with that frame of mind the next 8 holes.

Also I have never played there, but I hear

Yes I've played there a few times, that course is tough. I haven't played there since I feel like I know what I'm what I'm doing. Also very expensive, but I just looked and it's $35 for Twilight, so mmaybe I will give it a try again this year and see how it is again.
