I'm watching the NBA Draft and once again, my Knicks absolutely blew it. Seriously, how many times can this possibly happen?

Frederic Weiss over Ron Artest
Selecting Nene Hilario over Amare Stoudamire and then trading Hilario and a no 1 pick for Antonio McDamaged..err...McDyess.

Say what you want about Isiah, he could draft good players.

Tonight, they take a guy who does not even start for his European team and his numbers absolutely stink. Instead of taking Jared Bayless or Eric Gordon, two guys that can play and are absolutely fearless, they take this scrub.

All is not lost, though. At least they did not take Brook Lopez. We don't need another 7 footer that shoots 45% from the floor.

I didnt watch the draft, but I hear the Milwaukee Bucks acquired some promising players. Maybe the Bucks will actually win a game or 2 next year.
It would be nice if the Bucks got their act together. The Brewers are playing well for once, the Packers are usually pretty good and the Badgers are good in hockey, basketball and football. It would be nice if our NBA team could get it together too.
Now all we need is an NHL team, but dont get me started on that one!

John Paxson FINALLY got something right.

I am looking forward seeing Derrick Rose. Guy has every skill to be one of the best pure points in the league.

I gave up all hope in the NBA a long time ago.

I watched the draft to see where some of my (least) favorite college players ended up.

D.J. White going in the first round? Ha!

I'm a Knicks fan as well and was disappointed in the pick until I read we are trying to trade D-LEE for Raymond Felton, so we can get our PG.

I would get rid of Randolph or Curry instead of David Lee (if anyone wants them). David Lee would probably fit perfect in D'Antoni's type of offense (and also happens to be the Knicks' only young guy that seems to get better every year - for example his remarkable improvement in free throw percentage). It just seems that the only guy any other team wants from the Knicks is David Lee :(

That would explain the Bobcats drafting DJ Augustin.

Seriously, though, am I the only one who thinks some of these draft picks absolutely stink? I laughed this morning for a few minutes while listening to Fran Fraschilla describe Gallinari. He said "You have to understand that he' 20 years old and playing against men." I could not laugh any harder. What 20 year old does not play basketball against men? Go to any metropolis in the States and you'll find 16, 17, 18 year olds playing against grown men. He then proceeded to say "Gallinari has also played against NBA players like Casey Shaw." When I heard that, I literally spilled out some soda I was drinking. Casey Shaw? Not the great Casey Shaw. I mean, he played a total of 14 minutes in the NBA. Yup, that's what I want. My team using a lottery pick on a guy who plays against the likes of Casey Shaw. I mean, why use that pick on Eric Gordon? 19 years old, McDonald's All American, 21PPG in his only college season, explosive, 6 "4" and better than any perimeter player on the roster. Yeah, let' skip him and draft Gallinari. Nice, real nice.

No, no you don't understand man. What Fran is trying to say is that the competition in the TOP Euro leagues (that Danilo was in) is better competition than what most NCAA teams face.

Danilo is a REALLY good talent. He has a ton of potential, and he just needs to work on his defense. I think D'Antoni can make him play defense, knowing his father will help because he'll listen very much to D'Antoni and have a greater respect for him than just some normal coach. Danilo is also a player that fits into D'antoni's high tempo scheme.

As a huge Knicks fan myself, trust me on this one golf junkie. Give Gallinari a chance.

The word "potential" gets old when it comes to the NBA Draft. There have been some diamonds in the rough found in the draft before, but the players end up being busts WAY more often than not it seems. The Knicks messed that one up big time. I'm not saying the guy won't be a solid player two or three years down the road, but the Knicks need contributors right now.

I get tired of hearing the word "potential." I'd never draft for potential if I was a GM. The way sports are nowadays, teams need to compete and win right away. Like Dickie V said, the current coach doesn't even see the potential half the time because they are fired a year or two into the contract. The next coach is usually the one that gets to see it.

The Knicks may or may not be good next year, but that doesn't matter. There was no player who was going to step in right away and make this team 100% better like a Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley would have. Danilo is just as ready right now as some of the other options. Sure, he'll have to have some time to adjust but the other guys are just as young and raw as he is to be honest with you.

My point is the Knicks could have drafted Gordon or Bayless but they wouldn't be drafting based on D'Antoni's system. Augustin would have fit in quite well, but he's not a guy that will step and contribute THAT much right away anyway. The goal is to get under the cap by '10 so that we can sign LeBron James...We will be fine next year, I think we will win 35-40 games and have a legit shot at the 8th seed for the playoffs.

Thats what I said this year when we got Zach Randolph. A 20-10 guy seemed too good to be true in the front court with Eddy Curry, but we all know what happened there...

No drafts for me(NFL, NBA, ect..). Way too boring to watch, I'd rather spend 10 mins reading the summaries than the hours/days the process takes. It's like watching grass grow.

    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).
    • Wordle 1,003 3/6 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩   felt a little like Wyndham when the first three green and I began the fist pump…
    • I'm relieved someone finally defined hiking. I was giddy when I saw these new TPI videos a day or so after they dropped. Very easy to understand the problem and solution the way they have presented it. Been working on fixing this for about a year and a half now. It's nice to be able to call it something so communication becomes easy.  I was working on more lateral and up too, but just having someone define it clearly in video form was so helpful for me to continue confidently with what I thought was wrong and how I had to fix it.  My conceptual error here was just trying to rotate like a tour pro but without including the necessary forward pressure/weight shift associated with enough lateral and upward motion of the pelvis.  This video is great too, as is Greg Rose.
    • Day 2.    couple mins of rolling putts end over end.    10 mins of Slow, mirror work, working on starting the downswing and impact wrist positions. Hit a couple balls into the net after.    Then finished with a couple chips to see if I could repeat what I worked on yesterday.
