I recently had the fiancee get on me about my "collecting". She told me I had to pick a couple to get rid of... It made me wonder what the people on here collect day to day. Here is a list of mine.

1. Wine - 2500 bottles and counting. We have a room in our home that is temperature controlled and inventoried that takes care of it. This is number one on my list. Have to have my wine.

2. Cigars - Not as much as I used to, only smoke now when I am on the course. Just about 100 left. Small Humidor in the wine room.

3. Home Theater - We have a mother in law suite above our garage that has been converted to a full blown theater with 12 ft screen.

4. Golf Shoes - 9 pairs and counting.

5. Golf outfits - Too many too count, but she swears that I need to get rid of most.

6. Books - As an avid reader, I just never felt the need to get rid of any books. My office has hundreds of them stacked in bookcases.

That about covers it. Any opinions of which to get rid of would be appreciated. I need to cut down 2 of them either completely or close. I am leaning towards Cigars and Books, but input is needed.
So what does everyone on here collect?

Very Nice. They rarely go out of style, and last for years.

True, but Im Sure the Cotton/Polyester shirts are not very liked anymore. That new material thats really thin is in style now.

I collect movies. I haven't counted in a long time, but I guessing the total is somewhere around 400+, not counting TV shows and documentaries.

I don't collect much anymore...

  • I do keep an inventory of cigars, not nearly as much as I'd like though (I smoke them, 2-3 a week) there are a few that I've been aging for a few years though. I'm stuck buying cheap sticks for regular smokes ($5-8 range), and they go pretty fast.
  • I have a love for all things mechanical; cars, motorcycles, trucks, stuff like that. Right now, I've only got two side projects (a 68 and a 76 Bronco) I'm really itching to build a Model A pickup though. I've never built a bike from scratch, I'd like to do that too. I'll even design the jig for the frame, layout the suspension (no hardtails for me, they suck to ride), and TIG it up myself if I can get access to a quality jig table.
  • I have books though, lots of them, hundreds of them, stacked all over the house, my shed, the storage building and even in my truck and office. I devour them, sometimes 3-4 a week, other times I may only read 2-3 per month. Novels, biographies, history, technical manuals, how-to's and stuff like that. I did get rid of a pickup bed full this past winter, per my wife and my agreement to purge some of the unnecessary crap in our house.
  • I had 13 bicycles when I got married, but I rode 5-6 days a week, now I'm down to one.
  • Movies, I love 'em. I don't know how many I've got, and I don't want to know. I do know that I'm running out of room for the stinkin things though. I watch 1-2 per night also. Netflix, and high speed internet has saved me here, otherwise I'd have thousands.
  • Tools - can you ever have 'too many'? That's rhetorical. I've been accumulating tools since I was a tot, and now have enough to fill a large truck if I were to gather them all into one place, they're spread out between 3-4 locations. I need a HUGE tool chest to get them all together. It makes me batty having to rummage through several boxes to find the right tool during a project - whether I'm repairing the toilet, or rebuilding an engine.

*edit*

Looking at this, it does make me look like I've got a lot of .

I've been on a Nicaraguan kick lately, namely Don Pepin. I'm really blown away by the San Cristobal, but I can't swing them by the box. I smoke quite a few Tatuaje's instead.

I also like Corojo's and Cameroon's quite a bit. Partagas is one of my favorites (I really like the Series S cigars) I smoke quite a few Fuente sun grown's, and who doesn't love the Hemingway's? Right now I've got some La Aurora's, Dunhill, Trinidad, Partagas, Cohiba, San Cristobal, CAO, Rocky Patel, Jesus Fuego and I suspect a few others. How about you?

Pepin is a God in the cigar world. I love his blue labels. Rocky Patel is my favorite right now, as are Graycliffs. I love RP's vintage series so much, that I just bought 3 more cases of the 1992s online.

The 92's are fantastic. Look for his 'Knockoffs' in the CI catalog (likely on c-bid too), they make fantastic sticks for the golf course. Same cigar, about half the price due to it being slightly imperfect. If you haven't tried one, his Edge Sumatra is the best of that series, hands down. Keep an eye on your local B&M; (and the others in the area) and see if Rocky's going to be in the area (he's on tour now). If so, go meet him. He's a

super nice guy, and loves to talk cigars with his customers. I met him when he launched the Olde World Reserve's a couple summers back, and was very impressed. My local B&M; doesn't carry Graycliff, so I've never tried one, or been bold enough to commit to a box online.

I collect Simpsons and Clerks action figures. The Simpsons line stopped a few years back so no more buying those and the Clerks AF only come out every now and then. Collection contains 106 simpsons(plus 20 or so duplicates) and 33 Clerks figures, all mint in box. Have a few Gorillaz figures too. Also have almost every Golf Digest minus 1 or 2 since October '96. I've attached some pics: (1) Simpsons collection (2) Silent Bob with golf club from Dogma (3) Gorillaz jamming on my desk.

Oh yeah to answer the OP's question: I didn't see an option for new fiance :)

Rocky is down to earth and a really cool guy, we met him a while back in Charleston SC and he gave my buddy and I some Java's and now I am hooked. Didn't think I'd like a flavored Cigar but I think the fact he gave them to us made me like it even more. I never really smoked to many Cigars until we met him. Now I am picking up a few different ones here and there(Fuente's, La Gloria Cubana's, Cohiba's, Rocky's and a few others), and just recently bought a humidor, so that will probably be my next "collection".
