I'm not the first to do this I'm sure. But in lieu of being able to cure my slice off the tee on the course I've started opening my stance and stepping away from the ball. The result? 250-275yds and typically in the fairway. Whether its straight or not it plays.

I tried the method of not letting my arm go past my heart which works well but only allows me a 3/4 swing at most. I need more range from the tee. Any ideas?

Man if I could hit every fairway and drive it 275 yards I would not worry to much about it.But typically if you have a slice you will not get that kind of distance(believe me I have the same problem) I can hit most fairways but I have no distance at all most times 200 yards for me,its killing my game being so short off the tee

I used to slice so badly with my driver that I joked I was close to hitting myself in the back of my head with the ball. But a couple of weeks ago I saw a tip in a golf magazine that said to take a very strong grip (so you can see three knuckles on your lead hand). I tried it and though it feels strange it works wonders. Between that and flattening my lead wrist I'm now hitting it straight and long (for me).

I credit my hockey background and my size for being able to swing the club with decent velocity and hit the ball far.
