It's been said before, but I just received excellent customer service from Callaway

Yesterday I broke my 7 iron (three-week old Callaway X20.) I wasn't having the round I wanted and I topped a Par 3 tee shot. I turned and tossed my 7 iron down the "fairway" about 15 yards past my ball.

Long story short, the shaft was bent and had split on one side, so I broke it over my leg and played the rest of the round without a 7 iron. Great fun for the other 3 guys, not so much for me. I had errands to run when I got home so I didn't have time to call Callaway last night, but I just got off the phone with their customer service.

Ordinarily, the shaft replacement (Callaway Uniflex Steel) would be $20+shipping, but he told me they would make an exception and just replace it for free. So in 2-3 weeks, I'll have a new 7 iron ready to go.

I'm really impressed with Callaway about this. I fully expected to pay for this out of pocket (I didn't try to lie or convince him it was somehow caused by normal play--I told him straight up, "I broke it.") After such good service, I am definitely going to try out their drivers, and I'm probably going to buy their fairway metals (I had a Callaway 3 Wood that was fantastic for a while.)

Big thumbs up to Callaway for this. I couldn't be more appreciative. The least I can do in return is let everyone know about this positive experience. The only thing my mistake cost me was a promise not to break any more of their clubs. :)

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

My friend broke my Callaway Great Big Bertha (remember those? LOL) when he borrowed it and Callaway took care of it. They just sent me a new club since it was only 1 month old. That was my only experience with them but it was a good one

Just take it out of the bag and put it in the corner where it can see another putter in your bag for a little while. Surprisingly effective, particularly if you play a few rounds with the "other" putter.

Wow...I think I may try that!!

Last year my dad broke his brand new FT-I when his push cart fell over. He called Callaway and told them what happened and put a brand new speeder on it for free. Callaway really is the best customer service wise.

I have a similar experience with my 3-wood, but it involved a shaft break that was entirely not rage based. I was at the range testing it two days after I got it and lo and behold I swing and the ball met the shaft and I was lucky the head wasn't taken off but the graphite had a huge dent in it. Literally three days passed and I had a new one, free of charge. Callaway is great, and I have been a loyal customer since this incident.

I'm just curious, at a +3.8 how often do you hit the ball with your shaft?

I also received excellent service from Callaway golf when my 2 ball putter had some damage. I called them and they send me a new 2 ball putter. I was also impressed with their service, they understand customer service is important in business and it explains why Callaway is one of the top golf companies out there.

It's good to hear that Callaway is king when it comes to customer satisfaction. My whole bag is Callaway. I've recently ordered the FT-I (due to the price drop).

Great to hear they stand behind their product.

Yeah, a lot of pressure. Rise above it. Harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness energy, block bad.

I don't know who's getting new clubs but I sure didn't. I sent my FT-3 back for repair. I did not get a new club. I got it back *repaired*; it was scratched up and had this new neat sounding rattle. The person I spoke to at Callaway told me I would have it back by a certain date and that did not happen so I went on a vacation where I would be playing golf without my driver. Maybe my situation is an aberration but I don't hold the same opinion as the rest of you. BTW, has the OP gotten his NEW club yet?
