I have been experimenting with an immediate wrist set/arm rotation from a Brady Riggs tip on left arm rotation:

I was originally doing this as a drill but I started striping the ball this way and might want to shape a new swing with these characteristics. Here is a recent 8i swing of mine:

Although I am hitting it well with this weird backswing, the backswing plane is too flat (I am moving into the ball too but that is another story). I am basically trying to do what Riggs does in that drill. Can anyone detect why my backswing is too flat? Letting arms get behind me? Over-rotating left arm? This is driving me nuts.

I love this drill, and really need to do it more often. It produced very good tempo for me, and helped my backswing immensely. Thanks for the reminder!

I have seriously considered just doing every shot with that 3 step robot swing. Check, check, check, swing!

I can't really see why you are getting so flat. Maybe just a feel vs. real situation?

As I think I told you on another thread I am using this drill/method as of late. Has been working great for me. I don't think your swing plane is too flat. Didn't you say you are hitting the ball well?
