Video - What's wrong with my swing?

One thing I noticed, especially with the driver, is that you're picking the club up rather quickly, that usually gives you a one-way ticket to slicetown. Try and get the backswing wider, moving your hands as far from your head as you comfortably can.

Also, your right elbow should be pointing right at the ground at the top, but yours is sort of drifting to the right, which leads to loss of power and consistency.

Close your shoulders, they are wayy open, causing you to come over the top and hit cuts or straight pulls.

Thanks - that's exactly what a buddy of mine told me I was doing.

Your stance is closed (front foot forward) and your shoulders are open. Neither seems aligned with the target line. Get your shoulders, hips and feet aligned with each other and parallel to the target line.

You are standing a MILE away from the ball. Get closer and work on alignment.

yeh why isnt your driver behind the ball? its wayy left of it

You know I have done this for years with my irons and my woods and have been able to hit the ball well. Don't ask me why. It hasn't been until recently (since I bought the mp32's) that I have been forced to center the ball at address. That has thrown off my drives as well, because I am pushing the ball right now.

I don't have a tip for you but I wanted to say great idea putting the video camera up behind you. I'm going do to this next time I'm out on the range and dissect my swing too.

Looks like you might be overloading the club, at the top of the backswing club looks like it might be pointing right of the target or at the ground. Your left arm looks to like it's breaking down towards the top of your backswing as well. Try going 80% power and keeping left arm strighter, see if that fixes your problems. Whats wrong with your ball flight anyways?

I gotta say after looking at your swing more is that you have built your own rather unique swing. There are all kinds of uncoventional setup issues and moves in the forward and backswing that cannot be addressed with single thought or action. It might be that unless you are interested in completely rebuilding your swing, conventional advice might not work for you. The great thing is that you swing well enough with your self-made swing to be a 10 handicap. That ain't bad.

I used to be pretty consistant with my driver, but have been pushing a lot of shots out to the right.

I have only swung my irons for 1 round plus a couple of trips to the range, so I think all I need to do is get used to hitting them. It's a little tougher transition than I thought it would be going from MX11's to the 32's, but I am slowly getting used to them.

Having your driver not aligned with the ball would make a great difference, do you tend to slice alot?

... on the take-away remember "low and slow" it'll take you back slower of course but more inside closer to the correct swing plane

kind of what treemagnet is saying ... take the club back to what you "feel" is 75% and be aggressive through the ball, not swing hard but be aggressive, i started doing this and my backswing no longer looks like john daly's and my consistency has improved as well
