So I started off this season really improving my game. It is the first league i have ever been in so the consistency of playing each week has really helped me focus on my game and work to improve.

Before i post on here, I always try to read old posts and search for similar issues. I have found some help, mainly from this thread: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5906

However, I am still trying to figure out exactly what it is that causes me to close my clubhead. Is it mainly the grip? I always make sure that the club in is being held by the fingertips and not the palm. Should i just stop wasting time at the range and get a lesson? Any help would be appreciated.

I was planning on hitting the range today at lunch to work on some things before my match this afternoon.

I just really need to figure this out. I keep changing things and its only making me worse. Now I feel like i dont even have a consistent swing regardless if the one I had before was right or wrong. The mental game is killing me now as you can see!

What makes you think you are shutting the clubface?

Grip is certainly a possibility. Thats probably the first place to check.

Can you post a picture of your grip? The best angle would be like the perspective that you would see when you are looking down your arms at address.

Other than that, you may be coming in over the top. Would you be able able to provide a down the line video? The best place to upload is swing academy because then we can slow motion it to see whats goin on

    • Day 2: did my Evolver drill in the mirror.  No club, just did the motion. And this time I am confident I am doing it correctly.
    • Nothing is assured and lots of talented young athletes in many sports fail to achieve greatness. as was said, injuries, growth, lots of things can come into play, And let’s let honest, over the years a few players have been branded “The Next Tiger Woods” and yet there is only 1 Tiger Woods. My initial point was if he can do a great breakout it may capture the attention of a new generation.  Back in the 70s it was Secretariat in horse racing, we also had Jordan in basketball and let’s not forget Tiger for golf.  Stories get people interested and I think golf needs a new story. I will pull for him and hope it works out but there are so many factors that come into play you just do not know, But I can hope.
    • Day 114: 4/19/24 Chipping and putting practice. Tried a little hinge and hold with good results, which has never been the case during a real round. Playing tomorrow and eager to play.
    • I don't think I've found any of the Good Good stuff, or the guys that were once a part of it, very interesting.
