So everyone, thanks for your feedback on helping me overcome my 1st slump that I've had. I took 5 days away not picking up a club, putter, anything just trying to relax and get the lefts out of my head. This past Saturday I went out and played...well ok... the touch and putting weren't there, but overall off of the tee I was ok. I'm still pushing left, but at least it's not a gross duck hook that I can't control. I know i'm just shutting the clubface a little too quick on the tee, but i'm not setting up with it closed.

2 things that really changed after the break
Posture - it's not as trying to stand the appropriate length away from the ball...AND I'm not choking down on the clubs so much anymore.

So what's the 2nd? DISTANCE!
before here were my distances
driver - 250 - 260
3 wood - 220 - 240
2hy - 210
3 - 195
4 - 185
5 - 175
6 - 160
7 - 150
8 - 135
9 - 125
pw - 115
sw - 90
60 deg - 50 - 60

After my break, my scoring was all that, but the ball striking was 100% better and the distances JUMPED. So after playing Saturday, here were my avg distance
Driver - 240 on mishits, and 270 avg. my biggest drive was 310 with about 25 yards of roll
3 wood - 240
2 hy - 225
3 - 210
4 - 200
5 - 190
6 - 170 - 180
7 - 160
8 - 150
9 - 140
pw - 130
sw - 105
60 - didn't hit a full shot with it..only flop shots...1 where the tree was in front of me and I hit it 10 feet over the tree for a soft landing which helped me save par...

If I can get my ball striking to be what it was saturday...and be consistent with it, then I might take a few days off every few weeks.
I shot an 84 which isn't too bad considering that I missed
6 birdie putts
1 eagle putt (that ended up being a par...ugh)
6 par putts.

I need to work out my kinks with the driver b/c it wasn't consistent, but it was reliable enough. After that huge drive, I didn't even wanna take it out after that. Biggest drive of my life on a straight away hole.

I sometimes go months without playing. It drives some of my golf buddies crazy that I go that long without playing and still keep it going. They're afraid to go over a week without playing because they think they'll lose their edge.

When winter came obviouslly I didn't play for 8 months and still had my skill when I got back, firing off in the 70's my first round back.

Breaks dont affect some people.

I get really rusty if I take extended periods off. I try to at least hit balls weekly if I do not play. This is tough in the winter sometimes, but it definitely helps with feel after a layoff.

Breaks actually can do magic for your golf game - if i practice/play 2-3 weeks in row (with maybe 1-2 days off when not feeling so good) - after the break it just goes so much easier...
