So my biggest problem seems to be a weird angle on my downswing which causes the ball to fly/take off to the right instead of straight. This picture might explain

Are there any good drills that would help me correct this problem?
thanks

thats an in to out swing path. i wouldn't want to change that but try to work on hitting a draw shot. learn to close the face a little sooner than tyring to hit a straight shot. i'm still suffering from a cutting out to in swing path... =T

Agree with above... Lots of people would kill to have a natural in-out instead of the dreaded out-in.

It took me weeks of practice and 1000+ balls hit to consistently get where you are.

If you're just pushing the ball, that's an easy fix. Just work on slightly turning your hands over through impact. This will close the clubface and result in a nice draw instead of a push.

There was an article on this problem in the current "GOLF Magazine". Its called "Stop Pushing Your Irons".

It stated that you can put down two clubs that are parallel to each other and make sure they are pointed at the target. Place one at your feet and one on the outside of the ball creating a "track" with the golf ball in the middle. Then swing while keeping the bill or brim of your hat lined up with the outer club.

This should keep u balanced and keep ur head on the right swing path.

I suggest to look at the magazine if this is confusing....sorry. I tend to push my irons alot. This drill works. It focuses on keeping good balance which is mostly my problem.

Keep the push... just strengthen your grip a little... this should bring the ball back with a gentle draw.

I would but I've got people in my video thread telling me to loosen my grip. Not sure what to do :S

Strengthening your grip does not mean to grip it tighter. It means to adjust it to the right (for a right-hander) so you will see more knuckles on your left hand.

Hybrid: Rescue Dual TP, 19°

Ball: ProV1

At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
