I think I hit the longest Drive Ever today!!!

So it was a pretty bad round going for me today. Just had my struggles off the tee.
On the 15th hole of my course, there is a road to the left side. I never go left at all off the tee. So I always aim a little left and play a nice fade back in the middle of the fairway. It is a fairly reachable par 5 at 522 yards.

What happens next, I smack a ball that just does not fade. Bounces off of the road and in the back of a pickup truck. Black Chevy Avalanche to be exact. We watched as the car drove straight up the road and miles away.

Id like to see the Hammer hit a drive that far....POWWWWW!

Not a great day by the way.

A freind of mine knocked one 460 just a month ago.

hit a little block fade, hit the 2 lane road that runs the length of the #7 hole at Fox Hollow in Trinity, FL. Sure enough, was laying in the gutter, pin high.

Had to bump and run it under a tree, ended up with a par. (No OB stakes by the way, so we gave "GolfZilla" a free drop.)

i bet that ball is still goign!

i had my longest drive yesterday on hole number 1...i aimed a little left as well to play a fade but it went dead straight and stopped around 295

Yep, live in a condo on the 8th at Fox Hollow for the time being.

Needless to say...I know every break on that green!

Ever Play "The Dunes" past Weeki Wachie on US 19? Awesome course for $38, they charged our group of 8 only $28 though. No real bar and grill and it's in the middle of BF Egypt...but....I think it was just as good as World Woods, Pine Barrens...almost. Very similar, vast waste bunkers, and drastic elevation changes (for Florida) on most every hole. Greens were far better than Fox Hollow. Plus the staff at The Dunes were sort of Old Florida type, very laid back...no harm, no foul.

Great grass driving range, 2 pitching greens with plenty of fairway, rough, and bunkers, and a putting green that will give you a taste of what you are in for, the balls will roll back at you.

Shot an 85 from the Blues, butchered a couple holes, 1 OB drive, and hit the lips of some deep bunkers. A couple more rounds hopefully shoot around 79 or 80.

Hey, if the Avalanche had the utility hideaway cubby open, you could technically claim a hole in one (the odds have to be in your favor).

Did the truck at least slow down and/or acknowledge the situation?

My old driving range was beside the main railway line from London to southwest England and used to attract quite a bit of freight traffic. It was always fun trying to see if you could 'draw' a shot into one of the passing wagons.

There was a rule that said you could get chucked out if you were caught aiming for targets outside the boundaries of the range...

I had my longest a couple days ago, I love when you have extreme bombs so you have something to talk about in the Golf Acheivements catagory.

Fox Hollow huh? YOu are pretty close to me. This happened at Westchase.

Looks like we have a bunch of bay area golfers on here.... Also just a tidbit of info for you... Google Free Birthday Golf. I did it and come up with around 10 rounds between Sarasota and Orlando. Its nice because you can use them up to 1 week before and 1 week after your birthday. If you want my list send me PM and I will give you the courses.
