Was watching the Yankees/Red Sox game last night and spotted Tiger in the stands. I guess his leg is doing better now!

Ugh, don't remind me about A-Rod...had an amazing season last year...having the exact opposite this year. His numbers this year are all fluff (he likes to hit HRs when a win is either out of reach or if a loss is out of reach). A-Rod striking out in the final at bat was entirely fitting.

I agree it doesn't take much heavy lifting to sit in a seat for a couple of hours...but at least he GOT to the stadium somehow...I didn't notice any crutches near his seat. You'd think a guy like Tiger would try to stay away from the craziness of Yankee stadium if he couldn't run for safety without possibly reinjuring his leg...hmmmmmmm

Tiger strikes me as a front runner which, despite them being bad, means he is probably a Yankees fan.

Most likely he was in NYC to promote the new TW PGA Tour game coming out. And what better way to spend down time?

I'm pretty sure Tiger is a Dodger fan.

Actually I think this is correct. I remember hearing it somewhere.

He actually is a die hard dodger fan according to interviews. But is very good friends with a few players on the yankees (again, according to interviews). As far as bashing A-rod goes, he deserves it. But lets not forget the precious captain. He has been average at best for about 5 years now. But then again, I have been a Rays fan since they came here. Its been VERY VERY tough, but we are a proud bunch.

Simply untrue...have you seen his stats over the last 5 years?

Here are some numbers with regards to hitting in the 2 hole (predominantly): 2003 - .324 avg - .393 OBP - 87 runs 2004 - .292 avg - .352 OBP - 111 runs 2005 - .309 avg - .389 OBP - 122 runs 2006 - .343 avg - .417 OBP - 118 runs 2007 - .322 avg - .388 OBP - 102 runs Here are some career stats for ya as well (and counting): Career avg = .316 Career hits = 2504 AVG with no base runners = .313 AVG with runners on = .319 AVG with RISP = .312 AVG with RISP & 2 outs = .317 AVG with Bases Loaded = .357 As for defense - 3 straight gold glove awards, a career .975 fielding percentage. The man can flat out play - especially in CLUTCH situations (which A-Rod cannot)...and the years he hits under .300, its because he got injured in some way. This year he got hit by a pitch in the wrist, yet continued to play through it...and is STILL creeping up towards .300 after an abysmal start! If you want a complete breakdown, check this out - http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/jeterde01.shtml EDIT - oh yeah - and he's a 4-Time World Champ :P

What a shock, a Yankees fan saying how great Jeter is. He hasnt won anything in years. Nobody is saying he wasnt or isnt a good ball player. But for the press and love he gets. He hasnt carried a team at all. ARod got bashed for his lack of production in the post season last year. Where was Jeters? Arod is the only reason they made the post season last year. He has never EVER been the best at his position in the league. Im not a Sox fan or a Yankees fan. He is a great player and a great guy. An ambassador for the game. But if he played in any other city, he would not be thought of like this. He was captain (and deservedly so) of a $200 million team. They SHOULD win every year. Yet, it always falls on Arod for not carrying the team. If you want to put up career stats, why dont you put up Arods careers stats for arguments sake. Its not even close. And I cant stand the guy, but to compare Arod to Jeter is crazy. Especially now.

You make a lot of good points in your post. However, Jeter is proven, Alex Rodriguez is not. Jeter has had SO MANY clutch hits in the playoffs, and has won 4 World Series rings, that naturally, he'll get a pass. A-Rod doesn't get a free pass because he's proven over and over again he can not come through when his team needs him the most. A-Rod is more of the type that can carry his team. Jeter, really, can't. Sure, Jeter could get some more clutch hits here and there, but he's had so many clutch hits (and fielding plays) over his career that he's going to get a free pass. That's just the way it is.

Look up the stats this year: A-Rod is hitting .245 with RISP. Now, IDK what Jeter is hitting with RISP, but I guarantee it's well over A-Rod's...and I mean by 30 or 40 points.

Jeter has not had clutch hits in the playoffs in years. He is living off of amazing plays that happened 10 years ago.

He was a great clutch player during their run. No question about it. But people keep comparing them, and there is no comparison. That is the reason the Yankees brought him back. Because without him, they are not a 500 team. Heck with him, they are barely better than a 500 team.

Perfect example is last night. Jeter and Arod both left the same amount of guys on base. Yet Arod gets booed and Jeter gets cheered. yet Arod had more hits and RBIs.

Firstly, I never compared the two in my previous post (anymore - maybe when they were both rookies and they were of similar stature and purpose). Perhaps other people do, but I don't. Jeter's job is to get on base day in and day out, hit for avg, be a good baserunner and field his position well. A-Rod right now is about as big as it gets in baseball. He is simply one of the most gifted baseball players to ever live - he can hit for avg and power, he's a heck of a fielder, he's got a cannon for an arm, and he's a pretty solid baserunner too. Unfortunately, the one thing he lacks is being clutch. Agreed - A-Rod carried the team...LAST YEAR - and that was pretty much it!

Bottom line - Jeter = proven. A-Rod = cursed. Edit - you also mentioned the past 5 years. And I gave them to you. I know all that matters is the post season, but c'mon man - the guy does it for 150+ games every year...even when he's hurt! I never saw A-Rod dive into the stands for a foul ball...have you?

    • On my car I got the extended power train warranty. I do read the fine print most of the time. Though at now 37, my eyes aren’t what they were 10 years ago.    The problem with most of these extended warranties on electronics and appliances is you don’t register the warranty with the place you buy the warranty from, which I’ve always found strange. Unless it’s GameStop then you know Alina drops her Switch in the next two years and the screen cracks they’ll replace it. No questions asked.    You buy a slow cooker at Walmart for $50 and the extended warranty is say $6, you have to go through a third party to register your product for the warranty, and it’s pretty damn annoying. Target is the same way. Anything you buy the extended protection on you have to go through a third party.    Why do retailers go through a “broker” for warranties? Because they don’t wanna deal with it? They make me talk to someone from another country, that I can barely understand, when I need my warranty fulfilled.   Sorry for the rant.
