Here in TN, the weather is usually nice most of the year. But even when it breaks real cold, I still like to find some good days to get a round in. How often to you play in the winter, and what is the coldest temp you will play in?

Last winter in Colorado I played a few times per month. There was a streatch of about 6 weeks where there was too much snow on the ground to play. As long as it over 45° outside and there isn't snow on the fairways and greens I will play.

Almost every day, but I live in FL..

Man, that must be great. Not having an "off-season" really. You're so lucky. I know I could get so much better in so little time if I were down there.

I'll play if it's snowing (but not sticking)! I've been known to play when the temperature was below freezing, the greens are frozen, the wind is howling, etc.

If I want to play...I'm going to play. Plus, it's always fun to have the course to yourself

That's how I like my golf. A kick in the face. -Ben

I play all winter in Ohio (as long as the temp is above 32 and there is no snow on the ground)...

I am surprised that someone in Fla would invite us down to play in the winter. When I "snow bird" to Fla, the locals don't seem to like us much.

They love our money! They just don't like us clogging up all the golf courses, grocery stores, or restaurants...

Maybe it's just were I go in the winter....

Anytime I have time and it's playable, I'll play. But we get a "real" winter here, so it all depends on the snow on the ground. Here's me golfing in the winter...after a snowstorm...

When I moved here from Boston about a year ago I thought the Denver area would be silly with snow in the winter, but this is simply not the case – most of the courses stay open year ‘round, and because we are a mile closer to the sun the snow melts by the early afternoon - provided the total snow fall is five inches or fewer. I was told that some driving ranges even have heated driving stations to melt the snow that does tend to stick. This year I look forward to skiing and golfing all in the same afternoon.

I am truly jealous.

As you can guess living in the great white north i don't get to play much, but one of these years i'm going to go visit my older brother who lives in florida. But then I would have to bring out my golf clubs before there is to much snow since where the sheds are in our course the snows probably halway up the door lol. And the guy from Kansas, I am impressed by that. Pretty Ingenious too. I used to do a lot of floor putting but my parents decided to pretty much turn our entire house into hardwood, only carpet left is in my room.

thanks. too much time on my hands "working" from home last winter.

A couple more, then I promise I won't clog the board with meaningless videos of myself golfing inside. That's what youtube is for.

Never. Winter here in Wisconsin means snow on the ground and temps of -10 to 30 degrees.
All of the courses around here close when the ground freezes in November and dont open until sometime in April.
Winter golf for me is practicing my putting on the living room floor.

I am gonna try and get out to hit ball as much as the weather and my wallet will permit. The weather is off and on here could be sunny one month and then rainy the next. I am just learning to play so I've got to get out when I can.

I never golf in the winter. Way to much snow up here in New England. I'll chip around inside my house, and sometimes I'll go down onto the lake when it's frozen and hit some balls off the slush (it's almost like sand).
