We started a handicap, team match-play league last night.

Never played much match-play and thought it would be fun. You get 1pt for wining a hole and 1/2 point for a tie.

I won mine 5.5 to 3.5 and my partner lost 5-4, but over-all we won 9.5 to 8.5.

The dude my partner was up against EAGLED #1. Drove the green. Yes, the 335yd Par 4 #1. Woof. Made a 15' come-back (yes, he drove the middle) for eagle.

Anybody else play in a league like this?
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

I've been in the same league for like 14 years now. We play a combination match play/team scoring system. One point for each hole (half for a tie...using handicaps) and 2 for net team total, so a total of 20 points are available each week. We play each team in the league twice during regular season. First time through the schedule, low handicap from team A plays the low handicap from team B, then the second time around you play the person you didn't play the first time. We also throw in a couple of "position weeks"; the team in 1st place plays the team in 2nd place, 3 plays 4 and so on. Money is given out for both Team point total and individual point total. We also have a year end tournament for just team net total.
