I picked up an application and I want to work there. It pays $8.00/hr and it would be a weekend job because I have school. There are awesome benefits, like 30% off all iron sets, %50 off apparel, and $10 off of golf balls. I was thinking I would spend my first pay check on some Adidas Tour 360 III's. I think this would be a good gig for me since I'm 16.

Go for it!! If I was your age I do it in a second, get to learn about the game, good deals on golf swag, and probably get to hit some balls/putts on slow days.

30% off iron sets? New or pre-owned clubs? And 50% off apparel is nice. Not too bad.

Even though the US $ is worth more, I find it funny how $7-8/hr is good for you guys. Good luck, but don't get your hopes too high.

My cousin works PT at a Starbucks.

He gets everything free while he is working and gets 30% off the rest of the time.

Naw, I would never abuse that. I'm already cool with the manager there. We had a long drive contest on the Launch Monitor. He won by 8 yars he hit it 353, I hit it 345. I wouldn't want to lose his respect.

That sounds like jealousy! We all know you would work in a golf store in a sec.

I would love to work in the golf industry. I am a project engineer in the construction industry and have been trying to figure out how I could fuse the two together.

Ha it may be, only because it is impossible to get one here

Nothing.. It is good money for the US dollar, it just confuses me why minimum wage in some places in the US is lower.

Go for it.

My son has worked on and off at Golf Galaxy when he has had a need for money and/or when he has needed to replace his equipment. It's a great job to supplement school. Other benefits are working with a teaching pro, learning the ins and out of customer service - learning to sell, learning how to maintain and repair equipment... all in an environment of golf! What's not to like about that. Retail is a great way to learn business and can lead to other, more profitable, adventures.

Not only do the discounts apply for employees but family can take advantage of the benefits too. Not to shabby for the Dad's out there too.

Here's one idea how:

Get your company associated with AGC or ABC. Sign up or volunteer to work on one of their golf committees that organizes golf tournaments. You'll make contacts galore. (they may call it a social or fundraising committee)

In my Sasquatch Tour Bag:

Driver - G10 10.5°: UST Pro Vorce V2 Shaft, Regular flex
Hybrid - G10 21° & 24°: TFC 129H, Stiff flex
Irons - S57 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, PW - Nippon 950GH stiff shaftsWedges - Tour 52°, 60° 56°Putter - 34" TracyBall - Treosoft

Isn't there another thread where someone asks if these machines are accurate? Here's your answer!
