Yahoo apparently has a league as well . Sign up if you'd like. The group ID is "10313," the group name is "Sand Trap," and the password is "bunker."

It starts February 3, so you have a little time. I signed up to receive an email two days before the deadline so I can keep track of all these leagues.

We'll have three this year. That sounds like a good number. They all have different formats, too, from what I can tell.

That's cool. Next year we'll know which is the best.

Our Yahoo Fantasy League starts with the FBR Open on February 3. Your teams are now available to be edited and anyone that would like to join should do so before the February 3 in order to have an active team for all the tournaments this year.

There is no salary cap in this game. Instead you are only allowed 10 starts per golfer. Anyway, you pick two "A" list, four "B" list and two "C" list golfers. You start one "A" list, two "B" list and one "C" list golfer each round. You can change golfers in-between rounds, but it'll cost you a start for every golfer used, even if he just plays one round.

Scoring

A golfer can receive a maximum of 20 fantasy points in each round of a tournament. The golfer with the lowest real-life score in a round receives 20 points. Other golfers receive two fewer points for every stroke they finish behind the leader (i.e., a golfer one stroke back for the round receives 18 points, a golfer two strokes back gets 16. Golfers 10 or more strokes back receive zero points).
Additionally, while a golfer may win a tournament, they may not have the lowest score in the final round of play. As such, the tournament winner does not necessarily earn 20 points for the final round of play.

Bonus points are awarded for golfers placing in the top three at each tournament. First place golfers earn 20 bonus points, second place 10, and third place five. To earn bonus points for your team, a golfer must be active for at least one round of the tournament. The golfer can be in a non-activated (reserve) position at the end of the tournament and still earn bonus points for your team.

Hope to see everyone that has the time and ability to come and join us. This will be a very different challenge than the ESPN game. Consider it another chance for bragging rights.

OK, so here's the question... You can pick anyone for any tournament. So since Vijay and Tiger are not playing this week, I should ditch them and pick two people who are playing, right? And then, after the tournament is over, I can ditch the new people and put Vijay and/or Tiger back in, yes?

So long as I only use people 10x/year, I can do that all the time, swapping people in and out... right?

That is exactly right. And if you have Vijay and Tiger (example), only one can start each round. Swapping golfers in the middle of a tourney is not something I recommend, unless of course someone misses the cut and you want to make sure and have a starter in that spot.

OK, so, players are really going to have to pay attention to the "who is playing this week" stuff on the Web. And make selections as late as possible to account for withdrawals, etc.

I guess this idea died out quickly.

PITA to have to remember to switch players after every round.
