I just picked up a TourEdge Exotics 3H (18*) to add to the bag. Demoed it for a round and really liked it. Was the first time that I was 205+ yards out and confident that I could hit a ball and stop it on the green. One thing I liked (as opposed to the Adams Idea Pro Gold that I also had w/me to try out) was the slightly shorter shaft (39.5"). It probably shortens the club by a few yards, but to me, the extra control seemed worth it.

Anybody played with the Exotics? Like them? Dislike them? Just curious what other people have experienced.

What I play:

Driver: XLS Hibore 9.5* Fit-On Red (S)
Woods: Tour XPC 16* Graffaloy ProLite (S)
Hybrid: Exotics 3HIrons: Reid Lockhart 3-SWWedge: rac 60*Putter: a crappy $20 Academy putter (but it works!)

I got my 3 wood about 2 weeks ago and have been in love with my Tour Edge ever since. I never really gave them a chance and I'm glad I have.

I hit the 2 iron wood 19*, stiff flex. Looks like an iron with a fat sole and half a wood's back. Amazingly long club. I hit it around 240 yards. I was going to look for a 3 wood, thinking about tour edge again but this seems to be enough distance. I heard the tour edge cb2 3 wood was one of the longest 3 woods ever made and also forgiving so I was really considering picking one up but I don't want to lose anymore clubs out of my bag, I love all my wedges and that 2iw treats me well.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Yeah, I know a guy who plays the Exotics 3W...he's a pretty long hitter to begin with (and about a 5, so he's got more than just distance), but I watched him hit the 3W on the launch monitor and he was hitting it 290+. Maybe they needed to recalibrate the monitor, but I've also heard that the 3W is long. That's probably the next club in my bag I need to replace (mine doesn't really fit my game anymore), so I might take a look at it.

I have an XCG hybrid, fairway wood and driver. The hybrid and fairway wood are unbelievable clubs. I hit plenty of hybrids and 3 woods and none have the feel, control or distance as the Exotics. The driver has the same feel but I havent got the distance from it yet that I was expecting.... may be the shaft or loft.

I swear I can consistantly hit my 3 wood further than my driver so I believe the stories people tell about their distance with them.

13 Wedges
1 Putter

Hi,

I have an Exotics CB-2 #3 fairway wood and like it very much. Having said that, I don't care much for TourEdge since they don't have parity in their product line for lefty's. Glad to know you're enjoying your hybrid. The Exotics line definitely has interesting offerings at the cutting edge of technology.

    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
