I just made my second hole in one this year.
150 yard uphill par 3. hit a 7 iron.
didn't get to see this one go in, but was still a surreal experience.
The best part of the day for me was finishing with my best score to date. (2 over.) Only to top that today by following it up with an even par.
Our season will be ending any day now, I couldn't be happier ending the season this way.

Cheers!

I just made my second hole in one this year.

Well done!

I've never hit a hole in one although i've only been playing for 3 years. My friend made a hole in one on a 160metre (about 180 yards) par 3, it was in a medal round and the pin was on a downslope behind a bunker He was the 2nd junior to hit a hole in one in the time ur current pro has been working at our course

2nd Hole in One? I have never had one. Personally, I would rather break 70then get a hole in one, but thats just me...

Eventually, I'll get the hint and stop advertising, which is against the rules.

Congratulations. You've now had more holes in one than Vardon. I think. Congratulations whether or not you've passed Vardon's count.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

i had a hole in one last week!! i hit 9 iron to a 140 yrd green and saw/ heard it hit the pin and go in the hole! finished with even par that day
the funny thing is that i could actually hear it land in the hole.
Today i pitched in from about 40 yards as well, still only shot a 39

The closest I have come to a hole in one was skulling the ball and reaming it off the flag pole, only to find my ball ~20 feet away from the pin. (possibly a 9 iron from 143 yards out to withing 2 feet of the pin counts)

Anyway congrats.

Thanks to all!

Making the shot was great, Shooting my best score to date then following up the next day with an even better score was by far what had me on cloud 9! As for "How to hit one?" I was just glad to hit the green!
Congratulations,

You fly, I buy!

Congrats! This summer I thinned a PW on a par 3 right into the water. I teed up my second ball and hit a beauty shot that stopped and started back to the hole. It lipped out and ended up about 6 inches away. I was really happy it didn't get in as it wouldn't count as a hole-in-one and I was playing alone (112 deg, mid-day in Florida) with no witnesses anyway! I am really happy to hear about hole-in-one shots though. Again, congrats!

Congrats! What was the damage on the bar tab? I can only imagine how bad it must have been on your second ace of the year though I bet it was worth it. Hopefully you'll get a few more chances to play before the season ends.

I just made my second hole in one this year.

Congratulations!!

I had my only one last year, and then started doing some research. If I am not badly mistaken it is a one in 12000 shot. That means you are bringing the odds down with your two!!

    • Both @DaveP043 and I play in our interclub matches every year, and have been team Captains as well.  There are always a few courses, mine is one, that win a lot of matches (we've won twice in the last 7 years), and we've been labeled as sandbaggers.  However, I really think that our course was rated too low (our greens just never seemed to get factored in enough), and thus our Handicaps were always a stroke or maybe 2 above, what they would've been if the course was rated higher.  And then when we went and played other courses, their slope and rating were much higher than ours, and sometimes I would get a 2 or 3 stroke bump on top of that.  It was definitely an advantage.  However, this past year, our course was rated again and the slope has gone up, so we'll see if we continue to have the same benefit.  Season starts this Sunday for us.
