What does the coloring of the lettering on the balls mean?
Some Titleist Balls will have Black Titleist Writing..and a Red Number
Others will have Black and Black
What does this symbolize? Do other Balls Use this system?

I have no clue what it means, but it helps you identify what ball it is. So if you find black numbering with a black logo it is most likely a Pro V1.

Burner 10.5* driver
Burner 3 wood GD Pershing Shaft
Burner 5 wood GD Pershing Shaft
Tour Burner irons
Rac black 52* Rac satin 60* Red x 3 pro v1

I recall on earlier Titleist balls that black signified 100 compression, red 90 compression, and blue 80 compression. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Another related question that's not worth starting a thread over...what number do the balls usually go up to? I have a sack of golf balls (had a g/f that lived beside a golf course!) and found a '7' Titleist the other day. Don't recall seeing many of them before...

You can order most balls in high numbers (5-8), but with TaylorMade you can order golf balls with anything from 00-99.

And with Titleist, Pro V1's have a black number, and Pro V1x's have a red number.

Here's what I play:

Titleist 907 D2 10.5* UST ProForce V2 76-S | Titleist 906F4 18.5* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist 585H 21* Aldila VS Proto "By You" 80-S | Titleist ZB 4-PW TTDG S300 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 54.10 | Bob Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can 60.08 | Scotty Cameron Red X5 33" |

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
