Hello everyone. I was hoping that I could reach out to you all to see if any of you had any knowledge of where or how is the best way to get fit for driver, woods, and hybrids?

I have always been fit for my irons and wedges, but have never been properly analized for woods and hybrids. I have purchased many different drivers and have not yet found full success.

The problem that I cross is in my swing I do not get an abudance of wrist hinge, which causes me to have to much lag at impact. This causes the ball to fly low with very low spin.

It is difficult for me to get to 10* launch angle at times and my normal spin rate is in the 1300-1700 range. My ball will normally fly 240 then roll out an additional 40 to 50 yards on a dry day.

My current driver is a 2007 Taylormade Burner 10.5 stiff. I actually hit it pretty descent, but I am just looking for something new that is out there that has newer technology.

Any and all input will be appreciated! Thanks everyone.

well, the burner line has been improved for the o9 season, and the driver (if you can stand the ugly graphics) is actually a very nice club imo... i hit it just about as far as my driver that i have now...

You should find a certified fitter near you that has as many shaft and head combinations, as possible. You can then mix and match until you find the combination that gives you the results you are looking for.

IMHO, it is a complete waste of time to go to a local golf store that does not offer you this option.

What shaft are you using now? What flex and kick point? Is it a light or heavy shaft?

Agreed aboout the normal golf stores. Finding a store that has selections of multiple heads and shafts is sort of difficult where I am at. Golfballs.com is the best selection. Right now I am hitting the 07 Burner 10.5* stiff flex. It is a light shaft 50 grams. I am not sure what the kickpoint is on it. I feel like the shaft is a little to light for me. Seems like the shaft bends maybe to much at impact.

It sounds like you have the Reax Superfast 50 by Fujikura. This shaft has a higher torque and has a mid kick point. You might want to look at a shaft that has a lower torque, low kick point and is stiffer at the tip.

You might want to look at the UST Proforce line of shafts. Not very expensive, between $80-$150, per shaft. They also offer an online fitting service that is helpful in setting some guidelines that will be useful when you go and test out their shafts. Here's the link: http://ustgolfshaft.com/swingfit/ Hope this helps.

Ask at the local course/s. If they have PGA Professional on staff they should be able to tell you where you can get custom fit (if they don't do it themselves).

You should know that the best way to get fit and choose equipment is to ask here. There are a whole lot of helpful people on this forum who can tell you what you should buy.

That's a joke by the way...

Do some research on the Club Makers Society, etc to see where fitters are relative to your area. The closer you are to a big city or the coast, the more there will be. You are next to Texas, lots of them there. You need someone who can tell you launch and spin characteristics, club head speed, etc. You might want to survey your local course as come spring all the major OEMs will get their fitting vans out where you can hit the various heads with lots of different shafts and maybe even buy the demo which works best for you.

I find smaller club fitters may carry too small an inventory of stock shafts which can be limiting, as there is so much out there to choose from.
