Its not a minority sport. maybe where you live it is, but globally its a majority sport.

Used to play a bit of football (sorry, I refuse to call it soccer!) when at school before rugby was mandatory at 13 (another great sport!).

My parents aren't into football or sports much so I managed to somehow become a Southampton fan, as they were the nearest half decent team to where I lived. Got to see Matt Le Tissier play quite a few times....I ended up going to Uni in Southampton too.

In all honesty, I don't care for soccer. But hey, each person has their likes and dislikes, so be it.

I guess the Columbus Crew did pretty good this year (I live near Columbus, OH).

However, I was flipping through the channels earlier and there happened to be a soccer tournament on. I don't have a clue who was playing but it caught my attention. I have to give those guys credit. I mean, they run around for a set period of time, back-n-forth, here-n-there...they HAVE to be in superb physical shape. Heck, I'd probably make one lap down the field and pass out.

im not a fan of soccer, im not going to lie. i just dont understand it. it seems to dull and boring. but hey, thats just me.

and soccer is only a minority in the USA. in my mind its the 8th or 9th sport in country in terms of populatiry. once you leave the USA, its "a numero uno."

I only watch the World Cup qualifying matches, particularly when the US team is playing. Been trying to get into UEFA. Actually, just found out this week about the team from Russia, FC Spartak Moskva. My family being of Russian decent, they'll give me someone to root for and a reason to get into this league. Although I think it's pretty rare that their matches are televised here in The States. Its always ManU or Real Madrid or the more popular clubs that get TV time.

I do get a kick of flipping on Fox Soccer Channel though. Seeing some of the South American leagues on there and how the stadiums and crowds differ from those you can see across Europe. It seems so higher scale in Europe.

I am a hockey guy, and for some reason, most people I know who play hockey, also dislike soccer... not really sure why, something in our blood I guess.

Man City? Better, but not quite right.

By the way they are in the relegation group at the moment. I would hope that they could get out, with some of the players that they have (Robinho most notably). But I wouldn't be surprised if they get relegated as City's better half of the season is usually the first half, and so far they aren't doing too good.

Chelsea is where it's at.

      Both @DaveP043 and I play in our interclub matches every year, and have been team Captains as well.  There are always a few courses, mine is one, that win a lot of matches (we've won twice in the last 7 years), and we've been labeled as sandbaggers.  However, I really think that our course was rated too low (our greens just never seemed to get factored in enough), and thus our Handicaps were always a stroke or maybe 2 above, what they would've been if the course was rated higher.  And then when we went and played other courses, their slope and rating were much higher than ours, and sometimes I would get a 2 or 3 stroke bump on top of that.  It was definitely an advantage.  However, this past year, our course was rated again and the slope has gone up, so we'll see if we continue to have the same benefit.  Season starts this Sunday for us.

      I would not do anything until I met with an instructor and got your swing looked at. There are some obvious better club options out there though. Spend 50 bucks on a lesson, practice and start piecing together a bag that works for you. Enjoy the journey.
