I know this thread may seem stupid, but i just have to get this off my chest. I am officially obsessed with golf. I don't think about anything else. I started in July and now I try to golf as much as possible. I play a round at least once a week, I go to the range at least once a week and sometimes I'll play nine by myself. I read about golf on the internet at least two hours a day. Everything I'm getting for christmas is golf related. (Uc bearcat headcovers for woods, hybrid, putter. Sw, Gw, and Lw. UC bearcat divot tool. Three wheeled push cart. Golf shoes.) I truly have fallen in love with this game!

Is this normal? No, but it is normal for golfers, who are not normal to begin with. I'm sure the 18 step program at GA (Golfaholics Anonymous) can help you before you get in too deep. It's an unhealthy obsession that will lead to doomed relationships, poor performance at work (especially on those nice summer days) and financial hardship. People like me are in too deep for help now, but maybe you can be saved before too late...

The weather on the 26th is supposed to be 60 degrees, which you better take advantage of in Cincinnati. The winter weather will be here all too soon.

I golfed today. We already made plans for the 26th. I agree with what you say about financial hardship and lack of production at work. I disagree with the doomed relationships because i am one of the lucky ones, that has a fiance who loves golf. She's very good too. I really am blessed. I never get yelled at about wanting to golf. It's great. By the way what's your home course? Mine is the mill or fairfield greens. we also play beech creek a lot

My friends and I do not really have a home course. I live on the westside so I play Neumann and Pebble Creek a lot, but I play most of the Cinci courses at some point through the year. Lately it's been Stonelick Hills, which is one of the best in Cincinnati (if not the best). It's only $39 during the winter, but $76 or something like that during normal golf season. We did play The Mill Course about 2-3 weeks ago, though. Cincinnati does have some nice courses.

I'm a west-sider as well. Grew up in Colerain. Never played any of the courses you named. Since winter prices started, we've branched out where we play. We usually play 1-2 times a week. So playing at a nicer place during the winter, doesn't hurt the wallet too much. I graduated from colerain, and alot of people i know play pebble creek. I'd love to play it someday. just haven't gotten around to it

I highly recommend you try Stonelick Hills. It's a great course and not overly difficult (providing you play from correct tees). It's the most fun course in Cinci. Others I would recommend for a good time for a novice are The Links at Grand Victoria, Indian Ridge, Walden Pond, and Buck Point. Those are all fun courses, but a few miles away from Colerain. All have winter specials. For westsiders Neumann is one of the old standbys. Also worth checking out just down from Neumann is Aston Oaks, but you might need to work on your game a while before playing there. It's a great course, but it's also hard.

I live just a couple miles from Colerain High School on Cheviot Road, though I'm not from Cincinnati area. I moved here after college.

Hellooooo fellow Boys from the 'Nati!!! How y'all doin? Saw 1 of you play over at Beech Creek. I play in a league ther on Thursday nights. Aside from there I play mostly at Maketewah CC (place of employment), Becket Ridge and The Grizzly, but play different course around town too. I think Walden is one of the nicest. Won't play SLH just because of the price. I enjoy Beckett probably the most altho' I'm kind of biased as I worked there for 12 years. Y'all give a holler when it warms up, maybe we could hook up for a round.

Never became addicted my 1st year. Started playing back in 1988 when I started working at Golden Tee in Sharonville. Was hard to play as much as I wanted because I played a WHOLE BUNCH of softball. Retired from that back in '06 and NOW I'm hooked. Started ho'ing clubs, buy, sell, trade and now I even build my own. It's hopeless so get used to it. The more you play the worse the addiction gets.

I guess my reason for starting this thread is to ask, is this normal? Did any of you feel this way six months after starting the game?

I've been playing 22 years now, and I'm as excited about playing these days as I was back then as a kid. Maybe even more so.

You Ohio guys anywhere close to Firestone? The company that owns my club owns that place too, so I'd be able to get on. I'll definitely take advantage if I'm ever out that way. I'd need a group to play with too, we can make it a SandTrap group.

Firestone CC is in Akron, which is outside Cleveland in the northeast corner of Ohio. Cincinnati (and Mason) are southwest corner several hours away.

OMG call 911!!! You are not even close to having a problem.

I am at the range 6 days a week and play 27 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Most weeks I get in a couple of 9 hole skins games during the week and 9 holes alone on a par 3. Saturdays I get home after playing golf from sunrise till 2-3 p.m. and settle in to watch as many as 4 different tournaments recorded that day on my TiVo. Much the same the next day. SubPar

I'm not familiar with KSL. I worked for Beckett Ridge CC in West Chester Ohio for 12 years. They were owned by CCA from 1975 'til 2002. They were then bought by Fore Golf LLC. which has since run it in the ground. Once a proud private club, now semi and minimum maintenance budget. Still in fantastic shape for the money the super has to work with. He's been there since they laid the 1st piece of sod. Still probably my favorite to play in the area, but then I spent 12 of the best years of my life on it and know it like the back of my hand.
