This may be something that's been dicussed several times but "search" doesn't give me what I'm looking for.

I would like to buy better grade used balls but I'm not sure which site is best. When you add in shipping costs even low-grade balls from sites like Lostgolfballs.com cost as much as new balls from my local golf store.

Any suggestions or is this just how it is?

You hit the nail on the head on why I don't bother with the used ball sites. To get balls that are in good condition, when you add in shipping/etc, you could just go support your local shop and get brand new balls. I guess used ball sites would be OK if you don't have to have really nice looking balls that you can get for a decent discount. Just my opinion.

I have used www.knetgolf.com a few times. If you buy over a certain amount, shipping is free. They have several different grades of balls available for almost every model. I purchased some Grade B Pro-V1's a couple years ago and they were good.

If I've learned one thing in the short time I've been frequenting the Trap it's that PiKapp23 always seems to have good advice.

Anyway... the thought of free shipping occured to me, but I can't seem to bring myself to buy $75 worth of balls all at once. I know, I know, I'll probably spend much more than that over the course of the season, but it doesn't seem like quite so much when it's spread out over several months.

I'm very partial to Bridgestone e5+ balls and I normally buy a dozen for around $27. It just isn't economical to buy used and pay shipping when buying from some of the sources I've found.

You could always just hawk around on Ebay. I've got brand new boxes of Pro V1's for as low at 30 dollars shipped. They were older models (the ones with the dimple count on the side) but they were brand new to me.

I have used lostgolfballs.com for the past year and I am more than happy with everything I have purchased.

I'm not questioning the quality of their products. I just haven't been able to find a dealer of used golf balls who's price, coupled with shipping charges, is a better deal than a

brand new dozen at my local golf shop.

Well, I don't buy used balls. I do, however, go to the golf course when it is not busy and go into the woods and try to find some. Last week I found 4 Pro V1's and 1 Nike One Platinum out of 20 balls. 10 were top flites though

It´s called "economy of scales". If you buy one ball for 2 cents, add $4 for shipping and you just bought a used ball for $4,02.

Now, you buy 100 of those same balls...

I don´t consider buying less than 4 dozen at a time to maximize the discount.

Please don´t swing while I´m talking !!

I order from LGB all the time, last order I got 4 doz. AAA HX tours for a little over $50 including shipping. They were excellent condition, maybe about a third were logo balls or had small player marks, but so what? Considering they are $40 doz. new, how is that not a better deal?
