How many? Im thinking about the different facets of my game, i switch between cally IX, Pro V1X, TP Black, or Bstone 330.. I really like the IX and bridgestone off the tee, the black and pro V off the irons and chips, but really dont like the cally off the irons, but i love the cally off the flatstick..

Confusing, i know.

But basically, how many of you stick to one ball? Im thinking i might just buy a dozen, play until i lose em, then start with a fresh dozen. Maybe add some consistency.. I dunno. But if you do, lemme know what benifits you see off it!

Thanks,

Brian

Personally my self i like the prov-1x and the callaway hx tour. The prov-1 i get way to much back spin off it from my 9 iron down,i often spin 20 feet away from a pin with it.I play the prov-1 though if i am playing a course with hard greens.

I chop and change depending upon hole. Shorter par 3s (anything with 6 iron or less) and I'll use ProV1.

My Wilson ZIP sticks on the green usually a few feet in front or behind impact. That's part ball, part club, and part technique. It's best for me to stick with the same ball. I stuck a green from 185 out with a 5 hybrid and the ball did exactly what I hoped it would do. Never mind that I three-putted for bogey!

I play the same ball not necessarily because I believe it to be the best but I know how it will preform. Takes a lot of the guess work out of my shot selection when I know what the ball will do, you can't do that when you switch it up. Although I prefer the E7's in my sig off the tee I have been playing the B330 RX's since they came out but the new Srixons have peaked my interest.

I only use one brand and model... More of a mental thing than anything else... Enough to think about on the course... I read an article a few years back and it was recommended that you should choose a ball and stick with it... Like I said, for me it's more of a mental/confidence thing... I know how the ball will react

I play Titleist NXT Tours and stick with them. To be honest it probably wouldn't matter if I changed ball or played a cheaper one but it's nice having a bit of consistency at least in some area of my golf.

I too like to tinker and switch between 2-3 different balls. Right now I alternate between the TopFlite D2 Feel, The TopFlite D2 Gamer, and Bridgestone e5+. Might add the e7+ soon.

However, when I play on a course, I play the same brand the whole round. This makes it easier identifying your ball when you play with a foursome (unless there is someone else playing the same brand) If someone else is playing the same brand, use a different stamped number, or put a sharpie mark on it.

I have to admit, I'm surprised by a 3 handicap that hasn't landed on one ball yet...... I've found that the ProV1 meets my overall needs best and that's what I stick to. Even if I try something new on a rare occassion, I commit to a dozen to make sure it gets a fair/full eval. IMO the ball is just too important and they vary too much in performance to swap around. I have enough inconsistencies in my game without adding another one!

At this point, I'm still losing several balls a round. Furthermore, I am just now learning about the differences in balls. I bought a bag of mixed used balls to try out different ones.

I usually use the same ball (Bridgestone e7+), but I let weather conditions and course affect which ball I use as well. In cold weather I want to use a low compression ball, so I often use Wilson Zip (I swear this is one of the most underrated balls on market). In really wet weather I typically use a firmer compression ball with lower trajectory which has tendency to 'plug' less in fairways. On really windy days I also want a low trajectory ball. On warm, calm, nice days I want a ball that will fly high. When it's really dry I like a soft covered ball such as premium ball or e5 to increase spin and help me hold green. Since the e7+ just came out a few months ago I have not had a chance to play it in warm conditions, but from what I've seen so far it will be my ball of choice for most conditions because it's a lower trajectory ball, but still not as hard as some models with same trajectory.

I switch around because the ball does make a little difference in different conditions and by using a different ball I do not have to think as much about changing my game to suit those conditions. It helps me keep it simple.

I have played Maxfli Fire (the 3-piece) for two years and I'm going on three. I have played a few NXT Tours in there, but I like these better in the wind, and they feel comparable around the greens. I like having the same feel day in and day out, and this ball is absolutely the best I have found for the price as I usually catch them on sale for $8-$14 a dozen.

Only reason I could see for switching would be if you play an exceptionally high spinning ball... then I might play a slightly lower spinning ball on those super windy days.

I'm pretty consistent, but I use 2 different balls. I use the Callaway Tour ix during most of the year. I switch to the Callaway HX Hot Plus during wet/snowy times of the year. I figure if I plug any balls during my round, the Hots cost about $2 a ball and the ix is $4.

E5 then the E5+ for the past couple of years…..that is until Callaway sent me a 6 ball trial of the TourIX's. Bought 10 dozen IX's a couple of weeks ago so I'll be sticking with them for a while

I currently only play a Bridgestone e6. However, after working with a pro some this winter I am considering going to a e5 or the 330 series.

Reason I stick with one ball is I read a tip that working with more than one ball type will lead to greater inconsistancy in your short game. So even if you play a lower spin ball you will learn how it moves as you practice.

I suppose I need to change my sig. I play balls I find on the course. You can't beat the cost and since I usually find a couple of balls a round I have my pick of pretty much any brand or style ball I want. I do like the Bridgestone e6+, it's a low spin 3 piece and I find that I seem to have the best luck with balls of this nature (e6+, Nike Ignite, Wilson Zip, NXT Tour), but I'm cheap and I can't justify buying new balls when I find so many practically new balls all the time. I imagine by the time the weather starts to warm back up and I start to get a little more serious about my game I'll spring for a dozen of a ball that fits my game profile (one of the aforementioned 3 piece's), but when I do the ball I pick will be based on what's on sale at the time.

i try to play the same ball as much as possible because you get used to and know how it will react to how you hit it... altho ive been really experimenting lately during practice with many diff balls i have found/been recommended... but during a round i play one type of ball and try to adjust accordingly
