I always take my wedding ring off to golf... most people I see still wear one. Am I an oddball (for the reason stated).

note: I also take my wedding ring off to play hockey, play racquetball, ride my motorcycle, mountain bike, hunt or shoot, and pretty much any other sport or to pick up girls (joking).

I also take off my ring and watch. My wife also take off her rings when she comes golfing. I don't think it is that odd. Just don't lose your ring or you might be in some trouble with the wife.

I leave mine on. I haven't noticed any difference, but it will wear a hole into the glove after a few rounds. (A glove is only good for a few rounds anyway.)

The guys I play with think I'm weird for sticking my wallet in my bag, I'm glad I'm not alone here.

I put my watch, keys, wallet and phone in my bag when I play but having stuff in my pockets doesn't really bother me. I don't wear any other jewellery but would never play with my watch on, it's an automatic watch and I can't see the violent action of swinging a golf club being good for the mechanism.

My keys and cell phone (turned off or on vibrate) go in the bag, my watch and ring stay on. My watch is a Casio G-shock dive watch... it's been down 150 feet in the ocean... a little bit of golf can't possibly hurt it.

I wear a ring on the middle finger of my right hand, never take it off.... I don't find it gets in the way when playing golf, although it isn't on my glove hand which probably makes a difference.

Me too. Glove just fits better without the ring. No watch either and my pockets are empty except for my tees, ball markers and repair tool.

As many of you have said... I also empty my pockets completely and fill them with golf stuff. Only bad part is when I try to grab a hotdog or some crackers at the turn and realize my wallet is still back in my bag.

Same as quite a few people, I take my ring off and empty my pockets, putting everything in my bag, except my watch, which I leave in the console of my car.

I will usually leave my ring at home or in the car. If I forget about it, my finger starts to hurt after a few shots. Everything comes out of the pockets except for the essential golfing gear.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I can't stand to have anything on my person when I'm playing sports (golf or softball). I take my ring off all the time. I don't want it in the way when I'm working with my hands (working on the car, doing something in the garage, etc).

I wear a watch, a heavy one. For some reason it seems to smooth out my swing. Probably psychological and nothing else.

I never take off my wedding ring except right after wahing my hands to dry it off.

I'm with most others though; phone, wallet, keys, etc. go in a bag pocket. I only have my ball mark repair tool and 3 or 4 tees in my pocket while playing.

Everything comes off except my necklace. Can't stand wearing rings or a watch when I golf...
