So today I headed out to the Northern Trust, or as I like to refer to it the LA Open. From the looks in the morning it was going to be a nasty day of rain. But once I got there, the clouds broke and the sun was shining. Brought my camera with me and headed to the 18th. Walked back to 1 and took pictures of practically everyone I saw. A few of them turned out a little fuzzy, relied a little too much on the zoom. But most came out alright. Follow the link below to the full album, 116 pictures...

So today I headed out to the Northern Trust, or as I like to refer to it the LA Open.

One of my favourite courses, and I usually refer to the tournament simply as "Riviera". I guess sponsors these days really don't like types like us.

Great pics, I always like pictures of 18 leading up to the clubhouse. What a great and difficult finishing hole.

Cheers, Allan

Dunno? Link seems to work for me...

Even with the ominous clouds the place looks like a beauty.

The place and the surroundings are absolutely gorgeuos. One of the more affluent parts of Los Angeles. I only took pictures of two of the homes off the course, but practically every home out there is a multi-million dollar jaw-dropper.

Dialed in: Luke Donald. The majority of the groups I followed, dudes were toying around, having fun with each other. Luke looked like he was out there for a reason, he and Ryuji Imada actually. They were in two of the more interesting groups to watch too. Luke played with Geoff Ogilvy while Ryuji played with Shigeki. Luke and Geoff were one of the last groups out on the course. They were taking their time on the greens with putts and chips, also took some extra shots when they found themselves in the rough.

The pictures look fantastic.

I might find myself out there on Sunday, depending on the weather, who makes it to Sunday, and how my work is going.

Thanks for the thoughts. Unfortunately, I'm teaching tomorrow and Friday. Last year, my Friday teaching was done at 10am, and I was able to make it. This year, my teaching on Friday doesn't start until 10am, and Thursday my teaching is at noon.

Those are great pics...I think the marketer in me thinks that alot of those pics would look great with a little golf advert in the open area. I have never been there, but the grounds look amazing.

I get to go to the Byron Nelson free every year (my parents work for HP, used to be EDS. I don't know if HP will give us tickets this year, but joining the NTPGA gives me free tickets so it doesn't matter) and it's not the prettiest course, but still AMAZING to someone who plays a local muni. Plus, the houses on the sides are just UNBELIEVABLE. the kind of unbelievable where you stand and stare for 8 minutes and completely forget where you are.
