Re: How much is your golf set worth?

$1100 for what's in my sig. The wedges were the big ticket, they weren't a very rational purchase but it was late, she was there...I was there...

Re: How much is your golf set worth?

Let's see if I can shoot for the lowest cost for equipment:

Driver: Nike STR8-FIT Dymo2 (free)
Corbra 3 hybrid (free)
Vokey 52* and team data 60* wedges (free)
Taylormade R7 irons ($250 new from craiglist)
Lynx putter (30 new from golfsmith)
Golf bags: Local club logo embroidered bag and callaway bag (free)

Total cost: $280 (178 pound sterling)

Besides the iron set and the putter, the rest of the stuf I bought originally was put into storage, replaced by stuff I got from my cousin who knows a thing or two about golf more than I do ;D

Re: How much is your golf set worth?

Since this bag was built all within the last 4 weeks...this is gonna depress me.

V Steel 3 wood $40 (used, and love it)
Idea Tech A4 3 Hybrid $35 (Used and love it)
Tour Burner Irons (4-9) $220 after trading in the PW and AW
48°, 52° 56°, 60° Spin Milled Wedges $225 (3 barely touched used clubs, 1 new)
White Hot #1 Putter $55

Total: $785

Thank god for discounts. All I can say. If I paid retail? $1214. Wow.

No offense or anything but I'll never understand playing 3 different kinds of wedges. I'd think most people would like their wedges to be pretty uniform across the board.

It's probably up to him to game whatever he wants. If it suits him, who cares?

Re: How much is your golf set worth?

At a 1.87 handicap, it apparently doesn't seem to bother him too much.

Just posing a question. You wouldn't play 8 different irons would you?

I play three different wedges because they provide me with the characteristics I need. My 52 plays like one of my irons and allows my to hit a low pitch shot with spin. My 56 has very little grooves, and it allows me to change the trajectory and allow it to roll out. My 60 is used as a special shot club, and it spins like nothing you have ever seen.

So what, I like them all. I don't get the point of having a spin milled pitching wedge........

Oh wait, just posing a question.

See, this is what I was asking for.

I like the feel of Vokeys and wasn't happy with my former PW.
