AND, I realized that I hate winter and am extremely jealous of all the southies that can play all the time.

Overall, it wasn't that bad, but my driver was VERY inconsistent. I was happy with the wedges, putting, and irons. Overall, not a bad day. I shot 82. I'll work from there and keep knocking strokes off. Anyone have any advice for starting a season where there's not much to do for the game in the winter. Any advice will be appreciative. Thanks and have a good round.

My first round in 7 years, I shot a 91, shook off some rust at the range, and shot an 83 three days later. I worked a little more on the range, and spent the rest of the time on the practice/putting green. Scores have improved drastically since then. My swing is not yet where I want it, I know what I need to do, I just can't repeat it every time... I just need a little more time.

I've always felt it only takes about 3 weeks to shake off the rust if you practice properly. Make sure you spend some time on the practice green, putting and chipping, and always review your fundamentals when you first return to the range.

Good luck, it's nice when the rust starts falling off

Cheers, Allan

I would say just to be patient, keep a positive attitude and keep working at it. You swing will come back before long.
Usually my first few rounds of the year are pretty ugly.
