I have read on a few different post about how people hate Taylormade I am not a big fan of there's myself I don't like the fact that they put so many driver's out every year that it just seems like the quality of the club's (wood's in particular) have just gone down hill since the r7 425,r7 460 and 07 burner, any other reasons that you like or dislike Taylormade.

Other than just trying to keep up with their equipment, I hate that they have nothing in my area. I don't think I ever seen a Taylor Made club in a local pro shop to demo. There are some in the golf stores, but not many. I would like to try them, but if they don't feel they need a presence in my area then I can do without them.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

My biggest beef with Taylormade is that if they continue at their current rate, the 2012 Burner (6 models later) will have a 49" 25 gram shaft.

OK that is a bit of a stretch. Honestly I think they do a good job having a wide variety of irons for all different style players. I've always liked their RAC wedges. Their graphics are starting to look like a Dahli painting though.

I'll be honest your not missing anything spectacular, well as far as I'm concerned anyway I have 2 taylormade clubs in my bag but unless they bring back the quality from 2-3 years ago I won't be adding anymore I demoed all of the 08 and 09 TM drivers and was so dissapointed it will take alot of hype to even get me to try another driver of there's, I'm sure there will be some that disagree heavily with what I have said but give me quality not quantity.

I dont have a single club in my bag that isnt Taylormade. Ive demoed nearly every brand and NOTHING to me feels as pure and buttery as TM. The Burner 5 wood is like hitting the ball with a big aluminum baseball bat. Almost any way you hit it you cant miss. That being said, yes they do come out with too many new clubs... im not complaining though. Taylormade FTW!

What TM clubs are you playing to date? I see you mentioned the burner 5 wood, is that the burner or the tour burner 5 wood? because if it's the 07 burner line I agree it was a good line, but then they exploded with 5 drivers in the last 12 months, my r7 3 wood and my rescue mid are great but the driver's just don't have the solid heavy I killed it feel that they used to have, and that's what I mean when I talk about the quality of the clubs.

Its not the Tour Burner, just the regular Burner 5 wood. I got it last year so im not sure if its the 08' or 07' model. Right now im playing the Tour Burner driver, Burner 5 and 3 woods, Burner Plus irons 4I-PW, Taylormade 60* wedge, and Rossa Spider putter.

EDIT: it is the 2007 5 and 3 wood, i just checked.

Sounds like a nice set as TM doesn't make garbage, just dont like them that much anymore, the 07 burner series is very good especially liked the TP driver, the new clubs though leave alot to be desired.

Life is too short to hate a golf club manufacturer.
I have had several TM clubs:
r7 Superquad - fine driver. Great shape. Doesn't look huge. Great sound.
r7 425. Lovely shape. Great sound
Rescue Dual TP. Fantastic club.
Rescue Dual non TP. Hook machine.

TM irons have never appealed to me.

As for the constant whining about them bringing out a new driver every 6 weeks. So what? They can do what they like. If you want to have the "latest" driver, you're interested in golf clubs and not golf.

P.'S. I do hate apo'strophe mi'su'ser's.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I love my driver (R5 draw), but its an older club. Everything new they have come out with I look down at it and can't see myself using it. The crown is red, or it looks like a crazy triangle, or it has some crazy graphics... gross.

And I personally felt like my club got 10x better when the crappy shaft they gave me stock inexplicably broke (leaned on it slightly and *crunch*) and i replaced it with something better.

I wish they would just go with fewer gimmicks (loft adjustments, shaft length) and a bit more of an appealing look for their woods.

I personally dislike the term "hater." It just seems so simplistic. Life is more complex than being a lover or a hater. I also don't think that being critical of Taylor Made's short product life cycles makes one a Taylor Made "hater."

IMO, Taylormade is all hype. Ive never really been impressed with anything that they have come out with and, IMO, if it werent for their marketing and all the top pros they sponsor, no one would have even hear of Taylormade.
A golfing buddy of mine is obsessed with Taylormade and usually buys whatever new clubs they come out with, so Ive hit some of their newer stuff and I just dont get what the big deal is.
I recently got a free sleeve of TM Noodle+ and I wasnt impressed with them. They are like hitting a rock. No compression, no spin, no feel around the greens and they putt poorly.
I try to stay pretty open-minded about golf equipment, because you never know what else might be out there that suits your game better than what you have now, but there are 2 companies that I will not do business with: Taylormade and Nike.

I don't have anything against Taylor Made, but their equipment would be a lot cheaper if they didn't keep shelling out 100's of millions of dollars in sponsorship and advertising dollars.

Their R&D; can't be that much these days... There's no major improvements in their clubs over the last few years... Changing colours and graphics is not R&D;, it's the Art Department... FWIW

I always liked Taylormade, up to the point when i bought new equipment from them and 2 months later it got reduced in price 50% since some new model was coming out. Thats just not cool. So instead of hooking me to their products and maybe inducing me to try other stuff from them like their wedges or irons they kind of drove me away with their strange product policy.

I really loved their V-Foil line, also their RAC wedges were nice. But the drivers. I cant keep up. It boggles me to how they can produce a new driver every day. I remember when the Ti-Bubble 2 was the bees knees for 4 years. In their defense, that's how the industry has been recently. Don't get me started on the R9.....

They have great customer service. I creased the face of a TP R7 460, I bought the head on ebay.

They sent me a brand new SuperQuad with little questions, I sent them the creased head...all was well.

I had never used a Taylormade club of any kind until recently.

I bought a 2007 Burner Driver recently and have played with it twice.
I really do not have any complaints. It is not as harsh as the
Hibore XL I usually play. It is a very straight club.

So far I am impressed.

    • So, last night was the first night of golf league. First tee I stuck in the ground this year. First time hitting a ball off the grass. Left my putter on my indoor putting mat in the office so I was able to borrow one of my pal's spare putters. I putted poorly, but not the putters fault. Took me forever to realize the greens were very very slow. We've had tons of rain and the greens were downright furry. I also went from my car to the clubhouse to the first tee. No warm up.Β  It took me a bit to get it going. But finished solid. I think I had four penalty strokes in the first 5 holes.Β
