I seem to not be bale to fix this. My ball flight on most every shot, besides wedges (straight and a slight draw), go straight and then have a fade to it at the end, sometimes more worse than others.

I have come to the conclusion that my face of my club is hitting the ball open, slightly. I thought maybe my hips are not clearing soon enough or I am not rotating my forearms over.

Any advice or drills to work on this or any other issues that might cause this other than what I think it is?

Well if you are making solid contact you might not want to change much. Start with your alignment at address. Are you feet, knees, hips and shoulder all squared up? Next, check your grip: strong, neutral or weak? Slightly stronger grip might help close the face. After that things get a little dicey: swing plane, hip turn, weight shift. Who knows?

heres a drill. address the ball as you do normally then turn so you are facing the target so the ball is inline with the side of your right foot, hit 10 balls like this where your feet are facing your target. this will teach your hips to quiet down on your down swing and should remove the fade.

thats what my pro told me to do. now i have a nice reliable draw.

I am working on a column for my own site that will be up in a week and a half. Rather than make you wait though, here's a quick description of the best drill I know for keeping your clubface square.

Two Swing Guide Drill : Rather than just using one swing guide, you attach two. You can buy swing guide knock offs on eBay for $2.00. Anyhow, make sure that the swing guides comfortably fits on each of your wrists before you swing. When you actually take your back swing, both swing guides should comfortably hit your wrists again. This will tell you that you didn't open or close the clubface thus far. You will continue your down swing and through impact until once again the swing guides hit your wrists comfortably. I emphasize comfortably because if during your back swing or follow through your clubface opens or closes you will either miss your wrists or it will scrape across your wrists - which is not very enjoyable. If you are hitting your wrists comfortably at both of those points you are going to find that your clubface is either square or very, very close.

Hope that helped.

OK, turn my whole set up to the target, are my toes pointing at the target now? Not visualizing this that well right now. I dont slice, my ball bath is straight with a fadeat the end. I dont like this cause I know its a fault in my swing most likely causing me some distance.

i have this problem also... and when you add an outside in swingpath it gets to slicing really quick... even when i adjust my swingpath... i tend to leave the clubface slightly open...
the way ive corrected it was taking super slow mo swings and gradually getting faster... when i feel im grooving enough... ill tee up a ball and take 1/2 swings... when im satisfied they go straight enough... ill tee up and go 3/4 till they go straight to my liking... then ill go 80-90% which is my usual swing... at the end ill see if i can hammer out a few full out bombers... just to see where they would go... which normally isnt where i want... hence the 80-90% normal swings

I've been having open club face problems with my longer hybrids and woods for the past few months, so I had a lesson last week to address the issue.

The instructor took a video but did not see an out-to-in swing path with my iron. So he went over my swing fundamentals and found three things to correct:

1) Turn the right-hand grip slightly clockwise, so the V between my thumb and index finger would face my right shoulder (I use the overlapping grip). My left-hand grip was already strong (i.e. could see at least two knuckles) but I needed to also rotate my right-hand to compensate.

2) When addressing the ball, ensure the club face is lined up properly, and the shaft is angled over my upper left leg. If I let go of the club the grip should rest on my upper leg.
I had been holding the club almost directly in front of me so I wasn't squaring up the club face properly to the target. Even though I was placing the ball further up my stance, I still keeping the club shaft almost perpendicular to the target line.

3) On the back swing, keep my right leg flexed, but don't straighten it. I was straightening the right leg and raising up in my stance, which would make my downswing inconsistent. I was not even conscious I was doing it.

After one session at the range practicing the changes I started to draw the ball slightly with my 20* hybrid, which was the first time that ever happened. I also managed to hit draws and pure shots with my driver and 3 wood for the first time in a while, though I was not consistent (will go over that in the next lesson).

I think the adjustment that had the biggest impact was my club-face and shaft position. Seems like a small thing to overlook but I had no idea I was addressing the ball incorrectly and had the shaft in the wrong position.

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)
