  1. 1. How important is a club's look at address to you?

    • Extremely, if it doesn't look right I won't buy it.

    • Somewhat, but not enough to stop me buying.

    • Not at all, if it works I don't care what it looks like.

When buying clubs how important is the look at address? In a game

You nailed it right there!!!!!

It's gotta look right for me to trust it. I'm usually not a big fan of offset or closed faces. I like a clean, square and uncluttered look at address. I suppose one contradiction to this is with my latest addition...the 4 Hybrid. The rounded ones looked better to me at address initially, but I've grown to trust the square model so much that it now "looks" better to me.....to the point that I'd like to continue this squareness up through the fairway woods and....maybe....driver...who knows... It's funny, though....how my tastes have changed over the years...one look vs. the next. The main thing is what stick makes you feel the most confident.

Has to look right for me. Anything odd or any optical tricks and I won't get the best out of it. I like nice, clean lines, thin toplines. Traditional I guess .

Anyone remember the Clevland VAS clubs? Ugliest club ever. I used a demo set a couple of times and they were great clubs, but no way would I have bought them. Just too ugly to look at.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Haha, I was just thinking how ugly these irons were a few weeks ago, I saw one in the $10 bin at a golf show. I used to have the putter.

    • Day 2: did my Evolver drill in the mirror.  No club, just did the motion. And this time I am confident I am doing it correctly.
    • Nothing is assured and lots of talented young athletes in many sports fail to achieve greatness. as was said, injuries, growth, lots of things can come into play, And let’s let honest, over the years a few players have been branded “The Next Tiger Woods” and yet there is only 1 Tiger Woods. My initial point was if he can do a great breakout it may capture the attention of a new generation.  Back in the 70s it was Secretariat in horse racing, we also had Jordan in basketball and let’s not forget Tiger for golf.  Stories get people interested and I think golf needs a new story. I will pull for him and hope it works out but there are so many factors that come into play you just do not know, But I can hope.
    • Day 114: 4/19/24 Chipping and putting practice. Tried a little hinge and hold with good results, which has never been the case during a real round. Playing tomorrow and eager to play.
    • I don't think I've found any of the Good Good stuff, or the guys that were once a part of it, very interesting.
