I think all the people that were saying tiger will not be the same for the past 200+ days can not sit down, and enjoy the ride that is about too take place in two weeks. With that putt on 18 today Tiger proved that he is now back to his old self in making clutch puts. I think Jim said it best today that Tiger is the best pressure putter that has every played the game. What dose everyone else thing about Tigers comeback today and how do you think he will do at the masters after today? There are some things he still needs to work on such as consistency with his long game but his short game is on fire minus a few putts.

Can I be the first to say on behalf of everyone "No shit, Sherlock?" Lol.

It's fairly official at this point, Tiger is not human. Is it freaking anyone else out that this was his 6th win at Bay Hill and his 66th win for his career?

666! Mark of the beast!

Mommy, I'm scared....

this guy is just phenominal! just amazing! it was almost obvious he was going to sink that last putt on 18 but it was like you couldnt believe it at the same time! he is just a legend and the best player the game has ever and will ever see! at this point i cant see anybody challenging him at Augusta but ill see what i think this time next week and see if the likes of phil, sergio, padraig, villegas, kim, etc. produce anything special which may show people that they have something to offer at Augusta! but Tiger is just absolutely immense!

It would be awesome to see them both playing great golf and then there be a sunday match up. Here's the thing though. Tiger did tonight what he is famous for: coming through in those clutch situations and somehow pulling the win. I'd love to see him do the same thing to Phil in two weeks. I just don't think Phil can keep up with him. Come to think of it, where was Phil this week?

Tiger played a good final round, made some huge clutch putts.... but when you're down 5 shots with 18 to play, and scrambled your way around the course a bit, I look at it as a case of Ohair losing more than Tiger winning. He played a great round sure, but Ohair had all the oppurtunities to put him away, and just couldn't.

mate you surely cant take this away from him! he shot 67 on a course which most players were struggling to break par on and he was making putts like he did on 18 and was scrambling amazingly well! he's just phenominal!

I agree. O'Hair had his chances to put Tiger away and didnt capitalize on them. Not to take anything away from Tiger's win, he hit some incredible shots and found a way to win like he usually does.

I agree, lets not give him a green jacket yet. Its a major, its tough and alot of things have to go your way. I want Tiger to win at Augusta as much as anyone, but they still have to play. All it will take is a Zack or Trevor playing well. He wins 30% of the time, far from a sure thing. Glad he is back though, makes golf a little more exciting again.

I said Saturday, if he gets in the final pairing he'll win. I had Tiger as the favorite because of the pressure of a playing with him in the final group on Sunday and all that goes with it. Not a tough call. Who you going with? The guy with 65 wins or the kid with 2?

Tiger came out with three early birdies to apply the pressure as O'Hair missed fairways had left putts short. Just about everyone Tiger's beat on Sunday had an "opportunity" at some point, but no one has ever been a closer like Woods. Tiger's back from an 8 month layoff for surgery and has played 2 full field events with 2 top-10 finishes (including this win). For anyone with any sense this should settle the argument about who is the best player to date. The layoff really hurt... his scoring average this year 1/10th of a stroke higher than 2008!!! SubPar

So the fact that Sean O'hair is scared of his own shadow and cannot deal with the pressure of a 5 shot lead means that Tiger is back? Get real. A golfer choking does not mean that another is back in form. Not saying Tiger did not play well, but he is not yet back to what he was, don't fool yourself, it will get a lot crazier with Tiger in the future.

Uh, he beat everyone else in the field too. It's not like he played against only Sean O'Hair.

Tiger did hit the clutch shots he needed BUT Sean Ohair threw up on himself all day.And yes he beat everyone else on a tough course but one he plays like he owns it.So 2 weeks from now Tiger should be the favorite at Augusta.

trust me he is back! its not just the putts he made over the week, especially saves for pars and bogeys, but on the stretch coming back he made a good few saves from improbable positions and lies in bunkers. its the sort of shot that he played on the 16th today though where he pulled it back and round to about 2 and 1/2 feet or so and the putt on the last which shows you that he is back and raring to go at Augusta in a couple of weeks!

Forgive me, but Tiger did card a final round 67. He still had to make birdies. The tone of your response seems to discredit Tiger's game. While O'Hair didn't exactly play back at Tiger, I wouldn't say that he fell apart. Tiger pounced on a vulnerable O'Hair. That is the nature of sport, that is, to capitalize on certain situations and the apparent weaknesses of your opponent. I am reminded of the adages in golf which describe golf as a game against 'old man par' or merely 'playing the golf course'. I suppose this definition is fitting, perhaps on a idle Monday morning with a regular foursome. Clearly, tournament golf is a whole other animal. There are other dynamics in golf that determine those who hoist the winner's trophy and those who wonder what could have transpired. I love it. This victory will silence all the naysayers for a brief while. Proof that this guy (Tiger) is something special.

I watched the broadcast with my 10 and 8 year old sons and as Tiger set up to the final putt my 8 year old looked at me and said, "Dad, you know it's in don't you?" I said, "Yes I do buddy, yes I do!"
No surprise here.

Tiger will not win the Masters. Yes it was an amazing putt on 18 but O'Hair left the chance open by his play in the final round. And yes he may be the "beast" i.e. the devil...he's good--but Satan must be in on this--lol.

    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
