Second 2 are me. 3 Wood.

Input is appreciated.

No, I'm sorry, your friends grips it crosshanded

Yeah. He's a lefty but has to hit righty. He swings a baseball bat left but not a golf club. He's done it so long that its hard to break.

As for me, I think I pop up too much.

There was an Indian guy from South Africa who played cross handed. He was really good. Can't remember his name. It was in Golf Digest a while back.

Actually he is a good hitter, but short game and putting keeps him around an 18 hdc.

So, would you suggest backing out a tad?

So, would you suggest backing out a tad?

Backing out could lead to loss of power and tops/thin shots. But, this next tip may help. A study was shown that the best ball-strikers, at impact, have a slight lean back in their upper body. The degrees of their torso was like 100, instead of 90 which would be straight up. This has helped my game and made me hit balls high, yet not pop ups. It has helped my long irons amazingly (as goes for fairway woods and driver). Experiment with this and tell me how you like it. If you start topping it, it means you're trying to lift the ball and hitting the ball on the upswing. By the way, though you have the "slightest" lean back at impact, make sure to continue excelling through your body, so you tap into the power gained by coming in a bit shallower. Have fun!

ALSO, move the ball up in your stance. Like not far off your left foot for your driver.

Thanks. I'll definately try that. Just to make sure I get what your saying, should I keep the same distance, from the ball, but just stand up taller? I tend to top the ball quite a bit off of the turf with my longer irons. Should this help that as well?

A few things stand out to me about your swing. The first, and we're all guilty of it now and then, is that you seem to lift your head just before impacted. Your friend actually does a really good job at keeping down on the ball. If you watch his videos and then yours, I think you'll see what I'm talking about.
Second, and I'd really like to see a back profile of your swing to confirm, your swing looks fairly steep. Its almost as if your hitting your wood like an iron.
Third, it looks like your shifting too much of your weight on to your back foot during your back swing and thats why you have to rush your hands through to keep up with your body.
Fourth and lastly, in my opinion you have a short follow through. Focus on a nice smooth swing with a full follow through. This should help you hit it straighter if your fading.
Bottomline, I'd like to see a back profile of your swing and where your weight is on your feet when you swing (should be on the balls of your feet and knees only slightly bent). All and all though, other than a few flaws that can be corrected with lessons I think you have a pretty decent swing. Keep in mind that I'm no expert, I just see a decent swing with afew flaws.

He yells at me about my head all the time. I try to keep it in place, but I think that I overthink simple stuff like that. I do hit it more like and iron, I'm trying to focus on flattening out with my woods and driver.

The distance from the ball shouldn't matter as long as it isn't too close to your body. Think of an iron coming into the ball. Think of it coming in at a steep angle. Then think of one with a flatter angle. You want a somewhat shallow/flat angle into the ball. Basically, you want that little torso lean back, but keep you arms at full extend. Some people top because they bring their shoulders in. A steep angle won't let you come in with arms fully extended. Also check your swing plane. Search "golf swing plane" on youtube, to learn what you need to do with your swing plane.

If you "pop up" its from hitting under the ball which means its teed too high or you need to swing a bit higher off the ground to make good contact. I suggest teeing lower.

If you want a lower ball flight on shots off the turf, then yes you need to not hit down so much.

I think you should work on turning all the way through the ball. Looks like you don't quite make it through the full turn.

You're right about the teed too high, but a lot of the pop upness is from coming steep. It's like when you hit a wedge, you hit down on it to pop it up. This applies to all clubs

Oh, by pop up, I meant my body motion, sorry. I usually catch the ball a bit high, actually.

    • Wordle 1,013 4/6* ⬛🟦🟦⬛⬛ ⬛🟦⬛🟦🟦 🟧⬛🟧🟧🟧 🟧🟧🟧🟧🟧 par is good after a double bogey yesterday.
    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
