Im looking for a set of clubs for my son for his birthday. He is turning 9. He started playing last fall when I started, and is starting to turn into a solid player. I have found a few sites such as US kids golf that sell clubs, but I was looking for reviews from actual customers, not just the testimonials from their own websites.

If anyone has any experience with any junior clubs or knows where I can find reviews it would be really helpful. thanks in advance....

my son has been playing on and off since he was 7 years old and has played with US Kids club, I bought them on ebay up to the gold color, he's 14 years old and now playing with my standard clubs.

I like the USKids club because they were light weight but I would also consider going to a club fitter that can make light weight clubs for your son and and see what works best for him.

good luck,

No reviews but Hireko sells junior clubs. Check out their forums as there was at least one thread dealing with the junior clubs.

My son has played non stop from age 4 to 11 and he has gone through two sets of US Kids clubs and one set of Walter Hagen's(Dick"s). All three sets of junior clubs performed very well and held up to normal "kid" type abuse! I think the Hagen's were a little cheaper so if your looking to save a buck they may be a good way to go without a loss of quality.

For what it's worth, I've talked to numerous pros about when and how to move my son up to the next set and one underlying theme I have been told is bigger is better. The sooner you can get them into the next set, the better as long as they don't lose control. My son will be 12 in a couple months and is now on his first set of adult clubs this season. I put him in a older set of Titleist Forged blades, lightened and shortened(by a professional) by a half inch and he's hitting his irons better than he ever did with the junior sets.
