For dropping a turd in the punchbowl.

Just when I thought....I knew...that I could be watching possibly the most electric golf tournament I've seen, you try to "punch draw" a 9 iron on 12.

Best shot of the tournament on 7 though, unreal.

Oh well.

haha, i know it. Phil always finds a way to screw up something really good...lol. His front 9 was unreal though, it seemed like every approach was inside 15 feet, and if it wans't, it was a bad shot.

Those two putts on 15 and 17 give me a break. At least make one of them! Absolutely sick front nine, played the 12th hole wonderfully. I agree he should have easily been in the playoff but oh well.... Props to Perry, but speaking of taking a dump, those two bogeys to finish out killed him. Congrats Cabrera on a second major

Holy cow, i had to watch the replays of phil to believe it. I left after he shot a 30 on the front amazed thinking he was going to make a run at it. Went out to the course for a quick 9, came back and he was back to nine under...He was 10 under when i left. Phil could have easily had this or atleast been in the playoff holes.

Yeah, Im a big Phil Fan and he should have won it, especially with Perry's Bogeys down the stretch. If Phil Pars 12 and 18 and makes the Gimmies on 15 and 17 he would have won easily at -14. He still outplayed Tiger though which should boost his confidence this year.

A few thoughts on this.....

1. Phil stood on 12 thinking he needed to press....there is no way he thought -12 would give him a chance...he tried to carve one into a tough hole location and came up wet....weren't we all applauding Sean O'Hair a couple years back for going at a tough pin at 17 at Sawgrass in an attempt to win?

2. If it were Phil making two bogeys in the final two holes to go to a playoff, everyone and their mother would have called it a huge choke-job....for some reason, this reaction doesn't apply to other golfers (although he won in the playoff, Tiger did the exact same thing a few years back to almost hand the tourney to DiMarco).

3. I am a bit dissapointed in Tiger's comments about having a "band-aid" swing on Sunday....Tiger, you gave it a run and came up short (to both the winners and Phil)...it's OK to be human....Phil didn't have his "A" game all week either.

4. The best Masters' Sunday I have seen since Philly won his 1st major with a birdie at the last.....just great, great stuff all around.

5. Kudos to Kenny Perry for standing tall with his chin up Sunday evening...nothing to be ashamed of....a great effort...kudos to C. Campbell as well.....Furyk? What a meltdown.

Phil hit a bad shot. He admits it. Sean didn't. Big difference.

Kenny's choke continued into the playoff, too. Three bogeys in four holes. Tiger birdied on the first playoff hole. Again, big difference.

I am a bit dissapointed in Tiger's comments about having a "band-aid" swing on Sunday....Tiger, you gave it a run and came up short (to both the winners and Phil)...it's OK to be human....Phil didn't have his "A" game all week either.

Why is that disappointing? It's truthful and honest isn't it?

Furyk? What a meltdown.

I think Furyk is one of the most over-rated players of the modern era.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I just watched a Top10 of Phils moments - and one of the quotes was like this: "Phil is like a date - at 11 pm everything is going fine and you get your hopes up that this might be the night - at 1 am you are home alone, and it all gone horribly wrong."

So true imo.

I just loved the visible hatred that Phil displayed for Tiger and the way he 'bossed' him all the way round. Tiger's 'band aid' comment just adds weight to my observation that TW is becoming too arrogant. I was so proud of Phil's electric (unreal) front nine performance.

Leaving Tiger out of this for a moment - that blind, around the tree, uphill, from the rough, hooking iron by Phil on No. 7 (?) to about 2 feet was one of the most remarkable shots I can remember in a long time.

Phil is always going to play like that. It's why he is so much fun to watch. No one, including Tiger, can get out of trouble like Phil.

Now that might have something to do with the fact that he is IN trouble so much

I have watched my recordings of the final round about 4 times as well as seeing it live and I can not see any shred of evidence for this comment.

LOL - i agree - i think its safe to assume when you come across a golfer who really lights it up with some crazy short game shots or saves from trouble, that he didnt see to much of fairways and greens in regulation in his beginnings of his golf career

But thats how you learn to be really good...

If that's true - I should be Tour-ready any day now....

..but what about the comments Steve Williams made about Phil a few months ago....i doubt he's forgotten them. He was voicing Tiger's true feelings about Phil i think.

I don't think Tiger spends that much time thinking about Phil. What Williams said was out of line, given that it was said in public, but Phil has a bit more class than to display "visible hatred" towards Woods. And I would be very surprised to learn that Phil "hates" Tiger. The handshake on the first tee was actually quite a cool moment.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.
