Do you document your flaws?

I'm wondering as you work on your swing, if you find a flaw and fix it, do you document or record the flaw and fix for future reference?

I just had a pretty frustrating week or so where I was fighting a "new" swing flaw that had shown up while I was trying to change something else. After two range sessions, 9 very bad holes of golf, and many hours on my launchpad simulator I finally realized what I was doing wrong. I had actually had a similar problem in the past that manifested itself differently, so I didn't recognize it right away. I'm thinking if I had a good way of recording and categorizing flaws when a problem cropped up I could maybe save myself some time and frustration. I'm leaning towards some video clips, kind of little golf lessons to myself. Anyone else do this? Do you use it, and does it help?

I keep a small notepad in my bag that I keep notes on pertaining to anything to do with my swing or my game. The notes I have can be anything from a swing thought to marking how the course plays. I even went to the point that when I played Spyglass a few months ago, the notepad was filled with notes from the David Fehrety commentary from the Tiger Woods PlayStation game.

I keep notes of my lessons and when I play about my performance.

For my lessons, I note the flaws pointed out, the shot that the flaw produces and the drill or thought to fix the swing issue. The during my next few practice sessions that becomes my sole focus.

On the course, I track my statistics via Scorecard method. I also make notes of the two areas of greatest underperformance. The rounds I play between lessons then I look at my self critique and bring that to the pro for a tune-up on that part of the game.

This has seemed to be an effective method so far. The tale of the tape will be told at the end of this season, as I have only been on this method 4 months now with about 5 rounds logged this year. Honestly 5-years down the road is probably when I can speak to it much better, but it is showing good results so far.

I document my flaws, either on notepad, computer or video. In a few months I will have limited time to play or practice so I want to have a reminder of fixes for faults in case they crop up again.

2011 Goals:
* Improve club-head speed to 90 mph with the driver
* Ensure increased speed does not compromise accuracy
* Prevent overextending on the back-swing (left-arm is bending too much at the top)
* Relax arms initially at address ( too tense)* Play more full rounds (failed from 2010)

      It seems like too much work for me. I'm actually surprised at myself for spending as much time on this as I already have. Shot Scope tells me my shots to finish with a 7i is 0.1 better than with my 50 or 55 so I'm just going to go with it. Actually, I tend to be the complete opposite. I've never faced a shot I'm convinced I can't hit. It leads to great heroics and complete flops. Conservative for me might just be someone else's normal.

      And like Matt said, and I have hinted at… it's ONE ROUND. Because you have to get hot. Better players than him failed to get through. And… Peaked too soon, perhaps. He could also get injured, get surpassed, lose interest or lose his game… Again, if I trusted y'all to uphold the bet, and if the bet wasn't basically a 15-year proposition… I'd bet y'all. The odds are against him, and heavily so. So… he didn't qualify, and he's playing on a sponsor's exemption. Jordan Spieth was 16 years old when he tied for 16th in a PGA Tour event… and I realize that mentioning Jordan Spieth (who has obviously had a lot of success) seems to argue against my point, but Spieth is the exception and he did better at only a year older than this fella. The odds are strongly against him.
